This is a lesson on how to build a modern cultural centre. Mercifully gimmick free it is a fine example of modern architecture using high quality materials and as an added bonus the Bartok Hall where symphony concerts are held (apart from Summer) boasts some of the best acoustics in the world, not surprising as it was engineered by Artec the leaders in this field. It's a relatively short tram ride from the centre of the city in an area which was once industrial but now being revitalised. Not a great number of tourists get to see this part of Budapest which is a blessing in itself.
Highly recommended for those looking to go beyond the obvious. In conclusion I must say that in all my travels throughout the world,to all continents, Budapest remains in my top 3 or 4 favourite cities, I adore it!
