“No way! Pricey and average”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

They are situated in the new part of Vaci street. They aspire to be serving modernized Hungarian dishes. They want to be bistro style too. But what they are not taking into consideration is that they are also focusing on tourists. And all these cannot work together.
The food is more fancy than real creation, no soul in there. Service: horrible. A waiter who wants to sell us everything. And also Vaci street prices...
No way!

“One of the highlights of Budapest”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We went to Paul's Bistro on the recommendation of an American friend who had also visited Budapest. We were the only diners at first, and we were graced with excellent service by a wonderful, very funny server who entertained us throughout the evening. This is the first restaurant I've experienced with photos of the dishes shown on an iPad! I had pork tenderloin that was perfectly cooked and tender. The wine recommended to us was perfect. Others have written about so-so experiences, but I am a harsh critic of restaurants and found the food delicious and the service unmatched and highly entertaining!

“Supposed to be good - - Just OK”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

Pretty empty on a rainy wednesday evening. Fairly early too. Service was good as we were one of only 2 or 3 pairs of people eating. Food OK. Good selection. Nothing that made it outstanding and wanting to write home about. OK

Very nice staff, very friendly! Gorgeous food. Try the duck leg or the roasted pork! Very good value for money.

“Great meals, quality ingredients, very expensive drinks”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

We visited Paul's Bistro with friends for a dinner.
The owner/waiter was nice, helpful and very talkative :)
The food was delicious, with great ingredients and designed with a good taste. Only one of us felt that it was average.
Though it is a bit expensive EUR 10-18 for a main course, 4-6 for a soup or dessert, it was mostly in-line with the quality.
However we belive that the drinks, especially wine is quite expensive, we can say overpriced. I have a solid knowledge of the Budapest winebars and restaurants, as well as bottle prices in shops. The wine was sold appr. 5 times as expensive as the shop price, and 2 times more expensive as other restaurants.
