This hotel has the look and feel when you enter of a luxury hotel. Beautiful building and of course the famous and very gorgeous restaurant.

However - the building is really split and the rooms and reception are lacking in that luxury feel. The rooms especially are very ordinary and our first one even had a kitchen (a large kitchen ) in it blocking the view from the window....The pool downstairs is a perfect example of what is ever so slightly wrong with this hotel. Clautrophic - dark - and not somewhere you'd like to relax.

They really need to up the luxury and have a bit of a re-think to be able to achieve what it says on the tin.

Room Tip: Make sure there isn't a kitchen in your room!

Returned to the Boscolo residence after a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised to find a consistency in comfort, cleanliness and well equipped room. Despite the "apartment building" feel of the hotel, rooms are quiet, clean and with all the needed comforts to make a great stay.

The residence is in an excellent location, short walk to most sights.

Even though we stayed there for one night this time, a fridge and washing machine (brought own soap) came in very handy.

The hotel parking is very convenient (even though a bit overpriced for Budapest).

Never tried the breakfast. It's not included in the room price and never bothered to find out if it was worth having. If feeling decadent, try having breakfast at the New York Cafe, inside the main hotel around the corner from the Boscolo. Better yet, have dinner there, just being inside is a real treat. Oh, and in case their credit card machine does not work, you can always charge your meal to your room at the residence (comes in handy so that you don't have to find a bank machine in the middle of dinner).

I read before some comments complaining about the hotel pre-authorizing certain amounts on credit cards at check in. It's a fairly standard practice in a lot of European hotels, they cancel the charge at check out and typically you get a copy of the receipt. Never had any issues.

Room Tip: 6th floor facing the street units seem to all have huge patios. nice added bonus.

We had a great stay at the Boscolo Residence. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and offered fantastic service. Our room was huge with a modern kitchen and enormous, clean bathroom. It is walking distance to the lively Erzsébetváros area which we spent most of our holiday exploring.

The breakfast was nice but not amazing (offered a range of meats, pastries and juices). There was complimentary access to a coffee machine all day which was a nice touch.

The hotel is served by a range of public transport and the nearest station is Blaha Lujza ter. We felt pretty safe in this area, but it is worth noting that this metro station has quite a lot of homeless people living in it at night. Nobody bothered us at all and we had no problems, but nervous travelers or people travelling alone could find this intimidating.

We had an amazing time in Budapest and would definitely recommend the Boscolo Residence.

Boscolo was spacey, clean, modern with friendly staffs... It is 3 minutes bus from Vaci Utca (bus station is right at the front), or 20 minutes walk, 3 minutes walk to subway... Although breakfast was nice... there are a couple of nice cafes on the main road just 50 from the apartment... Apartment has separate bedroom, living area and a large bathroom... Bed was firm and apt was very clean.... Love the place.

We chose the Boscolo as we enjoy the extra space of a residence and like the location.
The residence was modern and comfortable and if we entered via the Boscolo hotel it had a wow factor.
The residence is close to the 4/6 trams which run 24/7 and so give a good access to many parts of Budapest. There were many cheap bars within walking distance and some good restautants.
The staff were friendly and very helpful at the residence and we were given free access to the spa area in the hotel( sauna, steam room and relaxation pool) which was ok ,I certainly would not want to have paid for access. We did not bother with breakfast as it was 15 euros extra per person which seemed expensive. We had a massive balcony but no furniture outside which was a shame.
The rate we paid ( approx £ 60 p/n) was very good value and we would certainly return to the residence as our first choice in the future.

The Boscolo Residence is a very nice hotel-residence which is tacked-on to the incredible Boscolo Hotel in central Budapest which is a Baroque masterpiece and a tourist attraction in its own right. Unlike the hotel proper, the residence is very modern with old mod-cons stylishly done. I took my family (wife, two kids) and we rented one of the two-bed suites which was perfect and relatively easy in terms of logistics.

The only down sides are that the location - whilst relatively central - could be even better and the wi-fi isn't great throughout the hotel. All said and done, this is still an excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors; and take breakfast out as the EUR 15 you pay for it could be better spent...
