“Not very clean and poor service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

We have been staying at the Bosccolo Residence for the last 2 months and so far they have not made our stay very pleasant. The overall impression of the apartments is poor. They are not well maintained.
When we moved in, the AC was not working, some of the kitchen ware had to be replaced because it was broken, the floor is dirty and scratched, the curtains have burn holes in them, the bathroom has mold everywhere, the shower is flooding the bathroom every time you use it. The apartments are cleaned once a week. The cleaning is not very thorough. The shower head has not been cleaned once and is starting to show mold. Same with the bathtub and the bathroom floor. The floors get vacuumed and swept but they don't pay attention if the floor is actually getting clean.

Don't think about asking for anything extra. An additional kitchen towel, a vase or laundry basket. Not possible. Not all rooms have dishwashers or washing machines. For the entire building there is ONE washing machine (the other one has been broken for weeks) and ONE dryer (the other one has been broken since we arrived) in the Mezzanine level.

Ask the reception to mail a letter for us. Well, that letter never made it to its final destination. Got lost somewhere.

The kitchen is equipped (4 plates, 4 glasses, 4 forks, 4 knives, 2 pots, etc.) Ok if you try to make a sandwich, impossible to actually cook a meal. The stove has 2 burners but the 2 pots don't fit on it at the same time.

It is a place where you can stay a few days but not long term!

I have stayed here 2 years running now and have enjoyed them immensely. Receptionists/Managers all speak excellent english and have lots of excellent info on all types of subjects. Save up and get to the New York Salon, their 4 course menus with fine wine are amazing..I have never been to a michellin star restaurant but this must equal at least a 1 star establishment, certainly for the food anyway.
I will be going back in 2014 for another 7 day stay, its just the best place I've stayed in, in the many european cities I've visited.

Room Tip: Room 585 (Deluxe) has a separate bedroom but a smaller bathroom (bath and shower though)

Contemporary decor in modern spacious apartment with fully equipped kitchen and beautiful bathroom, professional and very helpful staff ! It felt just like home. Good location, close to the public transport yet in a quiet area. New York cafe is right next door.

Unfortunately stayed there for only one night during our stay in Budapest, but would have loved to stay there for longer. Budapest is a lovely city, I am going to get drawn there soon.

Stayed at the Boscolo Residence for 10 weeks across 5 months for business and it was just perfect. Reception staff committed to making your stay the best one, professional, friendly and very helpful, always smiling whatever the time of day. Apartments equipped with everything you need, exactly right. Requests and queries promptly addressed - a very valuable trait when away on business. Would definitely choose to stay here again in future, for business or for pleasure.

Room Tip: Rooms on the inside of the building are more quiet due to not being alongside the road. However, if...

We were spending eight days in Budapest so we wanted an apartment rather than just a room as it gives so much extra space. Our apartment was both spacious and clean and because it was situated next to the Boscolo hotel we could easily visit the excellent New York cafe for afternoon tea and also use the spa facilities, although at a cost. The spa was quiet when we were there so we spent quite a long time in there so probably got our money's worth. The best things about the apartment was that it was quiet, it was cleaned every day (even the washing up was done every day), and it had all the facilities you would want such a fridge, kettle, dishwasher and most importantly air conditioning which was definitely a relief after the 34 degrees temperature outside.

The Boscolo was in a great location as everything was easy to find – it was a 20 minute walk to the Danube, a 10 minute walk to the Jewish Quarter and and a 10 minute walk to Ferenc Liszt Ter where there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. It was also one of the stops for all of the hop-on hop-off buses so we used those several times. There were also plenty of small supermarkets nearby where we could buy bread, milk , wine etc at very reasonable prices. We also found a great little bakery across the road which did a breakfast of pastry, yogurt and coffee for £2.50 each.

Overall I would definitely recommend the Boscolo due to excellent value for money considering the location, the space and the facilities. We've given a rating of 5 because we honestly could not think of any negatives.

This residence apartment is massive.
It is perfect for a family stay or for anyone who want a big space, like me.
There are a lot of light coming into the room due to floor to ceiling windows.
I requested for a room facing the street because I want a lot of light streaming into the room with the trade off of noisier room.
The rooms that are facing the courtyard does not get sunlight with the trade off being a quiet room.
I stayed there in two different occassions within a week and on the first check in, I was upgraded to the executive room, which I was grateful for.
The bathroom was big with separate shower and bath tub.
There is no coffee machine in the apartment but it has microwave, fridge, dishwasher and water kettles along with all the high end cookwares as well as utensils.
The only problem I encounter was that the coffee machine at the lobby area were not functioning when I went down to get some free coffee..
Other than that, I will definitely go back to stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street are much brighter but noisier. Corner executive suites are large and have a...

Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The apartment was large, clean and well decorated.
The quality of bed was excellent and I am a very demanding person!
Boscolo residence is very well situated just next to the famous and beautiful New York Café and 3 min walk from the subway station.
I have just been a bit disappointed by the buffet breakfast at the Residence; next time I will try the full breakfast at the Boscolo hotel which is more expensive.
