“lovely little restaurant”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

came across this after our first evening stroll - nice interior, man playing Hungarian Piano type instrument - sound was beautiful - there was no outside seating, but in the Summer it looks fabulous on the photos.
The waiter was extremely helpful - the goose leg and hungarian chicken were chosen and these were both delicious. There was no room for dessert !
Advice on the wine list was great too. Lovely introduction to Hungarian food and drink - we were not disappointed and would certainly recommend this lovely little place.

“Old fashoined, but in a good way!”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We found this restaurant when wandering round looking for someplace to have dinner. As we were looking at the menu held by the 'waiter' two Scotswomen came out and one said to the other " well that was nice. It's good to go somewhere different for a meal". The menu looked good so in we went. It's always good to go somewhere and find waiters who look as if they've been there forever!
We had an enjoyable meal and it was good to see that others who came in and just ordered a bowl of soup were treated no differently from those who were having a 3 course meal.
Tables were re-arranged when a party of 8 came in without a reservation.
Service was attentive and the meal itself was very good. My husband's streudel ( 2 pieces, but he didn't share!)was eyed with envy by the group at the next table! Hopefully they had enough room for it after their schnitzels!
There was a nice relaxing atmosphere too.

“Ok for Lunch”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

Called in after walking around the area and doing a bit of shopping. Restaurant is nice, and the meal (goose leg for me, and duck for my wife was fine ) Had a bottle of wine. they have a good selection, but not particuarly cheap. Reasonable value for the food, but you can find better. Service was rather formal and stand offish.

“Great value - good atmosphere”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Loved the tradition appearance outside -beautiful carved wood, comfortable, light and modern inside. Busy but well spaced tables, calm professional service. food was interesting Hungarian dishes, tasty and well presented. The cimbalom musician made it special taking requests and responding to regular applause from diners. We noticed several people dining alone feeling relaxed and at ease. Would return

“A great start to our break”
Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

We spent a very enjoyable evening here with good food and pleasant music. Cost for 3 courses with 2 large beers each was just under £50 inc tip. Not bad for city prices at all !
