“Lovely <3”

Best dinner experience so far in my life. The food tasted great, the presentation was excellent, that wine pairing was superbe and the waiters were perfect. A bit expensive, but definitely worth it.

“I didn't love it as much as I would have expected”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

It’s inside the Fisherman’s Bastion, which has bags of character, but whether or not you have a view over Budapest will depend upon where you sit. The tourists / business groups were sat downstairs and Hungarians seated on the internal upper balcony. Not many covers so the service is excellent. The food and wine are good. The musicians (violin and double bass) are Wi-Fi connected to a sound system so that they can move around and be heard anywhere in the restaurant – the violinist almost insists upon playing you a tune at the table for tips – it’s great to hear the music and they are very capable musicians but far too pushy. At £34. per person it is fair value for money; given the building has such great character with good food, wine, the view, the service and the fair price I should have loved it quite a bit more than I did but I can’t put my finger on what didn’t do it for me, other than the musicians. 7 out of 10
