“Richard and Beth H. "Outstanding"”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

I would rank Borkonyha Winekitchen in the top three restaurants in Europe. The Fois Gras appetizer was perfectly seared with a well-balanced puree of fresh pea and the Guiney Hen was tender with just the right amount of seasoning. Our main course Chicken rivaled that of Marcel’s restaurant in Washington. D.C., tender and rolled in a transparent, unassuming wrap of bacon. The wines were pleasant with appropriate selections made at the recommendation of our sommelier. The service was precise, attentive and knowledgeable which made us feel unrushed, making for an enjoyable dinner in Budapest. Michelin should consider adding another star!

“Michelin star??? Not even one”
Reviewed June 2, 2014 via mobile

Very disappointed in our dinner here mostly because of the amateurish service. Couldn't find our reservation until we showed a copy of the e-mail confirmation. Asparagus soup and duck liver were very good. Main course of perch pike and venison although it was not cooked as ordered were delicious. Pours of wine were small and my husband's third pour of white wine was a totally different wine. Dessert selection was not sufficient. We have dined at many Michelin starred restaurants and this one is undeserving of its star.

“Amazing--and don't skip the Palinka!”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

Stop what you are doing and hurry over to Borkonyha WineKithcen! This is a Michelin star restaurant with a hip, neighborhood feel (who knew?) and everything about it is fantastic.

Tip: Don't miss the excellent Palinka (Hungarian grappa), which isn't on the menu, but is behind the bar. Your waiter can recommend one that will be to your liking--and that will put the Palinka available in most other places to shame.
