“Better than any Michelin star restaurant in Paris, Berlin or London”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

My first full day in Pest, after spending countless hours in museums and walking, I was very hungry, however it was late in the day and most restaurants were closed for lunch, I happened upon this amazing gem of a restaurant and fortunately for me they were still open. The food is better than any Michelin star restaurant in Paris, Berlin or London. I cannot say enough. The food, wine, and service were magnificent! This restaurant is a MUST, however for dinner, reservations are also a MUST!!!

“PERFECT”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

We had dinner twice (November 16 and 20) in this "bistro" style restaurant and both times we were extremely pleased. The menu changes frequently and all dishes were prepared fresh, extremely tasty and very well presented. The wines were excellent (what else would you expect in a WINEKITCHEN). The service was very pleasing. Great place to enjoy a wonderful dining experience.

“the best of Budapest, great food, super wine, friendly service”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

We have been to WineKitchen 5 times during the past 3 visits to Budapest within 4 months. This restaurant is one of the reasons why we keep coming back to Budapest for a weekend get-away or a short vacation.
The food is creative, excellent. The wine recommendation, too. The WineKitchen Team explains every detail of menu and wine (you also have to ask right questions), they are all hard working, honest young professionals.

The only concern is that there will be more people who complain about this restaurant, because it has become Nr. 1 restaurant in Budapest. It is not cheap, it is reasonable for the quality of food and wine served.

If you are looking for a cheap place to dine out or expect the American standard of service and English level (do not forget, you are in Hungary, Hungary does not have to be the same as the USA.), you should go to somewhere else.

“City centre, good food, expensive”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Borkonyha WineKitchen 24,400 HUF (2 people, 2 courses with wine)

* Szilvasvaradi trout with sun-dried tomatoes and shallots in red wine 2,250 HUF
* Crispy duck liver with apple in vanilla and beetroot sauce 3,350 HUF

* Mangalica variations 3,750 HUF
* Ribeye Steak 6,750 HUF

* St Andreas wine 5,520 HUF

* Latte 490 HUF

Fairly busy around 6.30pm on a Monday night but they accommodated us even though we hadn't booked. The restaurant has a high ceiling which gives it rather difficult acoustic so conversation is a little difficult

Waiters attentive and friendly, food excellent but expensive

“A memorable evening”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

The service, the food and wine were excellent. The ambience was friendly and relaxed while still being classy. The Hungarian wines suggested by the staff were a true surprise. They were equal to other European wines. We had a lovely evening. I highly recommend this restaurant.
