“Friendly, classy and tasty all in one - must go!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

I've recently been in Budapest and I ended up here with my friends almost by mistake: it was a great surprise! Food is excellent from starters to desserts, wine is only Hungarian and but there is a wide selection of fine bottles and on top of that the staff is incredibly friendly! Atmosphere is cozy but still classy. If you are in Budapest this place is highly recommended!

“Best restaurant we visited”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Ate here the first night, and everything was fantastic;

Starters we had the sausage ratatouille, and the goats cheese, both of which were delicious and well presented. Followed by the veal neck and the rabbit - again both very well cooked, in particular the veal neck was outstanding. Staff were friendly, restaurant was easy to get to, and well set out with a relaxed atmosphere.

For the rest of the holiday we were talking about this restaurant, so its a must in our books. Total price for 2 courses each, with a glass of wine (each) and a bottle of beer (each), came to £50, a bargain for the quality and style.

Only regret is that we didn't save this restaurant for the final meal of the trip

“Wonderful Restaurant”
Reviewed October 4, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I dined at the Winekitchen and had a wonderful dinner. Garden salad, the entrees being duck and beef cheeks (both were outstanding!), with ice cream for dessert. Including a bottle of wine our bill was about $60. You do not want to miss this gem!

“Just missed the 5 stars”
Reviewed October 4, 2012 via mobile

The location of the restaurant is excellent. The place was packed with foreigners and Hungarians alike. The wine selection was superb, only the best Hungarian wines are available for purchase (take home) and consumption. Our food had a 5 star presentation but the taste was just not quite 5 stars. Service was average as well. But other than that, great value for your money.

“Not very traditional but yet good.”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

This place serves fancy food which is sometimes at its own disadvantage. The goose liver tries to imitate french foie gras instead of serving typical hungarian goose liver. While the overall quality is good you may get disappointed if you are after typical and simple Hungarian cuisine. The wine list is very good.
