Brody House was truly excellent. The atmosphere was unlike any other "hotel" I have been to. The open nature of those staying and working at Brody House meant it was almost like spending a weekend with a large group of friends.
The location was also fantastic. A short walk from most of the key areas of the city to visit and close to a number of great restaurants.

All in all, Brody House is perfect for those looking for an intimate hotel experience.
Thank you very much!

My wife and I stayed in Budapest for three nights during the 2nd week of October 2011. I must say that after travelling to 5 countries and staying at various hostels and hotels during this trip, Fruszina handled our booking and was a great help and answered (the many) questions I had over numerous e-mails.

Brody House was definitely the highlight of any accommodation. We were greeted by Emily and were made to feel like extremely welcome guests. She showed us to our room and after a brief history of the building and what they're doing there, she walked us up to the club room to enjoy a drink and a brief tour. The place has an very warm and friendly vibe, catering to the needs of its guests in a way that's almost lost in the hospitality industry. The room itself, the Wilkinson room has a quirky loft area to sleep (very comfy bed) and uses its limited space extremely well to accommodate for any storage we needed. The bathroom was amazing - the best shower we had in Europe by far. The room was absolutely spotless and made up in a timely manner each day.

As for the location, it's perfectly close to main shopping areas and restaurants, it's a 10 minute walk to the Danube and very close to three subway stations (Astoria, Ferenciek Tare and Kalvin Ter). We enjoyed Budapest tremendously and were very pleased to have a home-base that was so close. I would highly recommend Brody House to anybody travelling to Budapest. We will definitely stay there again when we're again in Central Europe.

I live in Los Angeles, but visit Budapest every 3 or 4 months. I discovered Brody House September 2010 and it became my favorite and only place to stay when in Budapest. All the rooms are unique, named after artists that used to have their studios there and now have their work featured on the walls. My favorite ones are the Bullet, Claret, and Tinnei room. The owners and staff are very nice and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. The location is great, very close to the city center. Sometimes they have events in the evening that you are welcome to join. I met a lot of really cool and interesting people. There is something really special about Brody House and I can only suggest you experience it for yourself. One thing: if you can't handle stairs, it is not the right place for you...but then if you ask Peter or William, you might just get a piggyback ride from them :)

A real trendy & hip hotel in the heart of Budapest. Has a cloud of international art community around and is well worth its price. Much more memorable than any Kempinski or Ritz Carlton, especially if you catch one of their great gatherings or parties. A "must" for individualists.

If you want something different from the norm, this is the place for you. Brody House is an eclectic mix with the old building being restored with modern bedrooms, each individually represented by a different artist, which makes for a great mix.

Thanks to a lovely enthusiastic team, Brody House not only helps you with your booking beforehand (our arrangements had to be made without my husband's knowledge as it was a birthday present) but also hints of where to go, restaurants etc once you have arrived. Having a super staff makes one feel really welcome. We found it really interesting talking to Peter about how it all came together. Lots of restaurants to choose from, and even nice small cafe near the entrance of Brody House.

Incidentally, Budapest is very kind to those over a certain age. We got free travel on trams, buses and the metro (for the latter we just showed driving licence/copy of passport) and lots of reduced charges at museums etc. Found it pretty easy to find our way around. Could have spent much more time at the Hungarian National Museum a stone's throw away from the hotel.
We really hope to make it back to both Brody House and Budapest before long.
