“Excellent Guide and Tour”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

We had Aniko Kiss for a half day tour (with car) of Budapest and couldn't have been more pleased. She is pleasant, funny and extremely knowledgeable. Aniko brings the culture and history alive and goes out of her way to make the tour something to remember - highly recommended.

We located the guide in Rick Steve's - we have used his recommendations in the past and have never been disappointed.

“Excellent Private Tour - Budapest”
Reviewed November 13, 2011

We had just an amazing tour of the Jewish Quarter in Budapest. We originally found Andrea Makkay through Rick Steves book. Unfortunately, she was booked, however, she arranged a tour for us with another person from her staff, Aniko Kiss. The tour was spectacular. Although she is not Jewish, Aniko had a wealth of knowledge concerning the history of Jews in Hungary, the history of the Jewish Quarter, and the history of the incredible synagogue in Budapest. We were with her about 4 hours and there was never a moment where we were not learning something. We highly recommend Andrea Makkay and Aniko Kiss.

“Easy going guide, great with kids!”
Reviewed August 6, 2011

There was an excellent 8/13/10 review that summed up our feelings on "Suzy" that I'm just going to repost some of their comments an just first add some of my own. Suzy is the epitome of someone who has passion about her city but is not stodgy in the way she imparts that knowledge to you. She's laid back but don't mistake that for not knowledgeable. You want the brief synopsis on something, she's adept at that. You want the in depth, behind the scenes back story? She can do that too. When something is unexpected and throws her a "zig" she knows how to "zag." She has a pleasant smile and asked for LESS than our prearranged amount when a few in our group did not show up. That despite the fact that she spent no less time with us nor did we ask her for a discount!

Anyway, on to the repost: We just returned from a tour of Hungary. Our highlight was the bike tour we took with a fabulous tour guide, Zsuzsanna Marina Szurovcev. Her English is fabulous and her knowledge of Hungary's history and anecdotal stories is superb. We chose to do a bike tour through Budapest but I understand she will provide you with any type of tour you prefer. Seeing the sites with a book and a walking tour is not as informative or fun as having your own guide.... Budapest on bike was so much fun. She can be reached at her website. Hope you enjoy.

“Best Tour Guide in Budapest!”
Reviewed July 15, 2011

I read about Andrea Makkay in Rick Steve’s guidebook and e-mailed her. She was unavailable but connected us with a local guide – Barbara. Andrea was so helpful setting everything up and really personalized the tour to what we wanted to do. She even reserved us tickets to see the parliament. Andrea was fantastic, and I really recommend using her services. Barbara, the guide she booked for us was great, knowledgeable, and funny. I feel that we really saw a lot of Budapest we wouldn’t have without her help and expertise. Her email is amakkay@t-online.hu.

We chose to do a bike tour through Budapest but I understand she will provide you with any type of tour you prefer. We were gone for 10 days and the afternoon we spent with Suzy guiding us was the best. Budapest on bike was so much fun.
