My husband and I are in our mid 30's and were in Budapest for 4 days for a wedding after just finishing a packed 4 days in Rome. We decided to take the Trabant tour and Hidden Treasures to see as much as possible. Our first tour on our first day was with Judit. She was our guide for the Trabant tour and she was great, I don't know how she drives that thing and can give you details about everything at the same time. We were able to see quite a few main sites: the Citadel, Parliament, Market, Heroes Square etc. As she's driving she's also pointing out other sites that may be of interest and giving you history about Hungary. Its a great overview of the city and let's you get your bearings so navigating the city the next day was not as overwhelming. Keep in mind the Trabant is obviously not air conditioned, so dress lightly as you will definitely be hot but the experience is worth it!!

The next day, our timely guide Attila met us at our hotel in the morning. We were still so exhausted/sore feet from all the walking in Rome that we asked if he minded driving us around instead of walking. Attila was so easy going and genuinely kind and he was happy to oblige. He modified the tour for us based on our interests and he came prepared with historic maps and photos to give us a sense of time in history.

I would definitely recommend both of these tours, it is worth every penny, you will not be disappointed. By the time we left Budapest we felt great knowing we had seen everything we wanted to see and that wouldn't have been possible without these tours.

Our group of 4 (2 couples) did a private Soul of Hungary tour with Andras. I had spent quite a bit of time communicating with him prior to arriving in Budapest and booked several tours with his company. I can say right off the bat that he runs a first class company and listened to what we wanted and delivered. He will do custom tours upon request if he can. I will review each tour separately.

The Soul of Hungary Tour is an all day tour that encompasses almost all of the aspects of Hungary and Budapest in particular. History, culture, cuisine, and art. We toured most of the major attractions via a vehicle and in several cases exited the vehicle for a walking tour. We walked thru the Central Market, Gellart Spa, up Castle Hill and the Fisherman's Bastion - all great photo op areas. Andras grew up in Budapest and we toured his neighborhood along with several out of the way parks and cafe's. Andras loves his country and Budapest and it shows in his enthusiasm.

Following the walking and driving tour we went to his parents for lunch. This was a wonderful, personal experience with great food and conversation. Unicum, appetizers, wine, potato soup, stuffed cabbage, potatoes and strawberry dessert!

We then met with a historian, in a beautiful café, to discuss the history of Hungary - this was an extremely interesting conversation that we all (even those that hate history) felt was of great value.

We ended with a private gypsy concert - we love Czardas and gypsy music and this group of professionals played and improvised for a good 45 minutes - quite a nice finale!

This tour is well worth the time - if you have a several days to spend in Budapest do this in the beginning of the stay and you can base the rest of your time around what you learn. If you only have a day or two do this as it will encompass most of the highlights of Budapest and Hungary. It was great getting to know Andras and his family and we hope he will come visit when he comes to the US.

My wife and I took a private tour to the Danube bend. Our young guide, Atilla, knew the first stop, Szentendre, very well it is an artist town and he knows the back streets and where to find what in the shops. The town is clean and interesting.
We then went to Visegrad and Esztergom. The tour here was basic but interesting. On the way back we stopped for strawberry wine in a very interesting home.

We had a very interesting guiding in Budapest!! We have been in Budapest several times, but everything we saw and heard this time was new for us. Attila, our guide, gave us a lot of information and really showed us some hidden treasures. We were impressed by his knowlegde, and his way of sharing it with us.

We had a tour with Kate of the Hidden Treasures of Budapest. Kate was very pleasant and knew a lot about the history of the city. She was able to answer all of our questions and accommodated requests to see different things, including stopping in at a Ruin bar during the day. We feel like we got good value for this tour and would recommend it, particularly for those who are experiencing Budapest for the first time. We had seen many of the major highlights of the city the day before, and this was a chance to go off of the beaten path and see other streets and buildings that we had not yet covered. The pace was good, with lots of interesting information. It also included a brief tram ride on the scenic number 2 tram, which was on my list of things to do. Kate also gave us several good restaurant recommendations.
Communication with András was prompt and courteous. We had to change our meeting place and that was no problem to accommodate.
