Happy to find that Macska is alive and well. Not only open but have great programs in addition to the 'usual' tasty food and good beer. (Try the 'Grabanc' if you haven't yet.) In any case, don't give up! Keep on going!

Tried to visit the restaurant wedn 2 jan 2013. Appeared to be closed down. Had a sign saying "Closed but open on mon-fri 18-01" But we were there when it was supposed to be open and it looked very much like it has shut down permenantly.

We had a share plate, burrito and quesedilla as well as some full bodied organic wine recommended to us. The experience was a delight. A lot of information was given about the food and it was even vegan friendly. The area upstairs was quirky and comfortable amongst a of the feline decorations.

One of the very few hidden gems in town, off the beaten track, far from the tourist jungles. Without any fancy magazine ads or media coverage this cozy place became the favourite spot for enthusiastic crowd. Excellent veggie food, impressive beer supply (two types of beer on tap or you can go for the unbeatable ice-cold Punk IPA), great people and super friendly staff (find out who is the jew`s harp player). You just drop by here once and when you return next time you will be greeted as a good old friend. And it is only few of the many reasons why it can not be left out from your itinerary while in Budapest.
