“Top Hotel in quiet area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

We arrive to the hotel by taxi from the airport (FO Taxi stand right at arrivals and only a couple of pounds more than pre booking one), at first was sceptical due to location but many conveniences are located within stones throw of the hotel.
We were glad of the Budapest magazine guide as this is one break we didnt prepare for before hand, we found all our restaurants and bars to go to in here, the quirkiest, and they were spot on.

At check in we were offered to upgrade to superior room for 10Euros per night. The difference being Tea and Coffee Making, larger room and bathtub and, I believe compared to other reviews, a full partition between the bedroom and bathroom as opposed to a half partition. Although there is a window with blind which would make for interesting circumstances if you were staying with a friend! We were pleased with the upgrade, it was worth it for us coffeaholics (although we soon came to realise Prague tend not to offer instant, but 3in1 type sachets)

We had no trouble at the hotel, the rooms were immaculate and the daily maid services appreciated. I did notice minor things such as holes in a couple of towels we had, and certain items a bit run down in the bathroom but not being a hotel critic far be it for me to complain on such minors. Breakfast was not a vast option, but coffee toast and scrambled egg got me prepared for the day, cereals also. Other items I was not so sure on! I was satisfied being as the hotel was a bargain.

As for getting around, the hotel is a 30 minute walk at a good pace from the main areas. We were aware of this before bookign and read elsewhere that you can get 1, 2 and 3 day transport passes. This includes the metro, buses, trolley busses and trams which are all located around the corner from the hotel. Whilst slightly worried at first with this, we were soon pro's and hopping between different methods to get to our desired location. You also dont need to stamp the passes on each journey like you do with single tickets. The only places we got asked to see them was a metro entrances. Would highlighy reccomend it. It works for Margaret Island too (although we for some reason decided to walk from one end to the other which took around an hour).

We had no problems at all with the local area so I would ignore any comments on that, yes there are homeless sleeping in the underpasses etc, but this is the same everywhere. No one bothered us anywhere in Budapest.
We walked to City Park to visit Szechzney Baths, it was further than expected to walk, especially after getting lost in the park, but well worth a visit. So many different natural pools in the baths, not to mention jumping in the hot ones outside on a day below zero! Definately take flip flops if you plan for that! (And if you want to use the swimming pools you need to have a swim hat)
We stumbled accross Heroes Square without knowing what it was, just the end of City Park, and so pleased we did, it looked awesome at night, and there is an outdoor ice rink in the winter a short stroll from this. Great day out at City park.

Would highly recommend Budapest to all of my friends, and if they dont mind using Public Transport (we used it late at night too and no trouble) then I would also recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: There is no good views as such, Front faces the street and some buildings, back faces a little green...

I stayed at the Royal Park Boutique Hotel during a four day break with a friend. Although when you first arrive in the location of the hotel seems to be in a run down area, however the hotel itself is a modern, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and the service is good also. our rooms were cleaned everyday and we did not hesitate to ask the staff for help in regards to information about local customs and other inquires. a major plus point is that the hotel is a 2 minute walk away from the Metro station and also has a Spar supermarket on the opposite side, so its convenient if one wishes to grab food or drink before sight seeing/ travelling that day.
very pleased with the service and approachability of staff. would definitely recommend!

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and hard to find faut with it. Clean, smart and all the facilities you need for a short city break. All the staff were attentive and friendly. As others have said, not the smartest neighborhood, but the area seemed safe, has a good selection of bars, shops and restaurants nearby. It is also a 2 minute walk from the train/metro station, 10 minutes from the city park or Andrassy ave. Being picky, the bed was not the most comfortabe, and was two singles joined rather than a double, but slept ok.

A friend and i stayed at this hotel last month. It was up to the standards and worth the money we paid for. The rooms are not big but they are tidy and modern. The staff is friendly and helpful. You do have to pay a 50 euro deposit, which you get back at the end of your stay. That was a big strange because we have never experienced that before. You do get it back, so i guess it's okay. The hotel is not that far from the city centre and there is a big mall nearby. All in all it will do just fine for a weekend get away or city trip to budapest.

We stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel very clean and comfortable, the shower was great I was a bit suprised by the glass panel between the bathroom and bedroom but soon got used to it. How big do you need a room we only slept there we were out exploring all day and found it very comfortable yes it was a bit hot but we opened the window.
It was easy to get around we walked everywhere and occasionally got the Metro.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor and found it quiet, room 104

Having read some of the reviews,I decided to ignore some of the nit-picking comments left by some of the reviewers and booked this hotel via Travel Republic, £105 for a 4 night stay . Hotel was more than adequate, room was cleaned every day, towels changed daily,. Breakfast was typically Eastern European but there is more than enough variety to suit British and American tastes. Do not be put off by the Hotel's location, it aint in the most chic neighbourhood in Budapest but it's only a 200 metre walk to Keleti Railway metro station , 3 stops to Deak Ferenc Ter and transfer to Metro lines 1 and 2. This hotel is luxury on a budget don't waste money on a city centre hostel stay here.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the courtyard , front facing ones can be a little noiser

Went for a short trip with friends, Hotel, Staff & food excellent and trust me I am very picky.
Rooms excellent and clean, just as the pictures, Food- Breakfast a selection of hot & cold not your full English, but come on "when in Rome"... Very cheap well worth it and I would go back again.
Location: Well plenty of walking, but that can be in any of the hotels you stay in, but you can not
get lost as the roads are a grid design, so if you keep going right you will end up where you started.

Room Tip: All good rooms
