“excellent for city trip”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

We stayed here for a week-end. Hotel is new and modern. The room is very clean, spacious, bed is comfortable, bathroom is spotless.
Breakfast was excellent.
Location not close to city center, but you have good connection by tram and metro.

Poor location, decent room, nice park behind hotel, poor staff that scam you for a "city tax". This is the 3rd hotel I've stayed at in Budapest, and the first to rigidly scam guests for extra city taxes.

We stayed in this hotel as past of a New Market bus tour. It was difficult for bus parking and unloading/loading luggage, there is a busy cycle lane on the pavement which also was pretty scary at times. The reception was nice and so were the people, free wifi in rooms and the small public area. The room was very nice, although the pillows were empty (seems to be normal in Hungry). We ate in he hotel for an evening meal which seemed awkward as though you were not supposed to, but nice all the same. It is a bit out of the way, not in the city centre so you will need a taxi or take the tram if you want to explore, for this reason I would not stay here again.

We loved staying here, in fact, we extended our trip by two nights because we were so happy with our hotel room. As backpackers, we had assumed that we'd get a hostel in Budapest, but when we found this place for the same price per night, we were very pleased. The room was beautifully air conditioned, clean and very well decorated. We had a tv, a hairdryer and a kettle. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it was pretty busy each night so we can assume that it was good. Reception was 24 hours, which is perfect, and when I emailed them previously to check this they emailed back immediately. They were very friendly there.
There were only two things that weren't great - the internet just didn't work on any of our devices. You're given a password, but nothing worked. However, there was a free computer that you can use by reception, and also free printing which is pretty amazing!
They take a lot of deposit off your card. We stayed for four nights, and they took over 130 euros deposit. Considering that we didn't even have a mini bar in our room, i think that's a bit much!
The area is okay, it's down quite a long road but really only one metro stop from all the good stuff.

We stayed here on our way home from visiting family in Bulgaria. We booked a suite - very comfortable - on 2 levels. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was very nice. We took a taxi into the city centre to see the sights at night, cost us 10 euros. Driver spoke hardly any English which was a bit awkward as we were "communicating" by typing into his phone where we wanted to go. Shower in bathroom very powerful, AC unit very efficient. The only negative comment is that this little hotel is just too far out of the city!

I have to say that I was quite impressed when I checked in. Very clean, perfect aircondition and friendly ladies at the reception. As I was the first one of our party to arrive, i checked in my friends aswell. They were coming with the car and I reserved a spot for them in the underground garage.
The room was very clean and cool. Bed was really too hard to sleep on. Only one pillow aswell which wasn't really comfortable.
In the evening suddenly the parkingspot we reserved wasn't reservable when my friends arrived. It was a first come first serve kinda thing which irritated me a lot. And the man at the evening reception wasn't friendly at all and tried to ignore me as much as he could. Talked to him and then a few minutes later when I came back to him he let other people get in front of me first and then when he finally turned to me said: Yes, can I help you? Totally acting as if he never seen me before. He did that not once, not twice but three times in an hour! He was an arrogant little bugger who thought he was the king of the walk.
He said my friends should park the car at the other side of the road and that he will tell the security guard to check on the car during the night for us. He said you can park over there with no problem whatsoever. But he utterly lied in our faces and didn't notify the security guard when we checked with him. The guard said that it would be risky to park there and that the car could be impounded if we weren't lucky.
Luckily we bumped into a friendly Dutch couple who helped us out with the parkingspots.
Breakfast was good at the beginning. But on the second day, I thought I would check the boiled eggs instead. They were at least 3-4 days old! Not fresh whatsoever. So beware of that. Otherwise the other parts of breakfast was good. Fresh fruits were a winner!

Room Tip: Get a room in the city centre.

The room itself was OK. There was a moldy smell coming from the bathroom probably from a leak in rhe air conditioning system. The WiFi connection in the room was a joke. The signal was weak, dropped frequently and was very slow (room 412). Our friend was staying in 516 and he also complained about the WiFi. Beware that they have only a handful of free on site parking spaces. Good luck getting one. If you're not so lucky you'll have to pay to park in the garage or risk it on one of the sketchy looking side streets. The hotel has a decent tram and subway connection to the center but the trip takes 20+ minutes each way. The surrounding neighborhood doesn't look that great but we didn't feel unsafe.
