Description: The region’s historical dishes prepared with innovative technologies for everyday cosmopolitans. The restaurant’s name, Liszt, is a playful nod to two distinct and crucial elements of its foundation: it refers to Ferenc Liszt, one of the world’s greatest classical pianists and a renowned Hungarian musician, and its literal meaning of ‘flour,’ an important ingredient in the bread that is baked fresh on the premises. The menu at Liszt is themed around music. Appetizers are listed as ‘Prelude’ and soups are the ‘Symphony’, while the main courses are known as ‘Concerto.’ Menu items are created with fresh, local ingredients—meats, seasonal vegetables, fruits, fresh bread, dairy products, and cheeses—from farms and purveyors across Hungary, Transylvania, the Dalmatian coast and parts of modern-day Ukraine and Slovakia. Freshly baked bread, salted homemade butter, and in-house filtered water awaits all our guests, to truly arrive and prepare for the new experience.

Visited here on 2nd January for my partners birthday. The restaurant is small, just off the entrance to the Aria hotel, so it could be easily missed. It doesn't quite have the atmosphere of a high-end restaurant as you can't get away from the fact that it is a restaurant within a hotel and you do get guests peering in for a nosy (not helped by its proximity to the entrance) but the quality of the food makes up for that. If you want to sample local cuisine this is the way to do it. From start to finish the dishes were delicious and the waiter was very knowledgeable in his descriptions. The homemade bread and butter was so delicious we had to ask for more! The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and at the end of our meal they were able to call upstairs to the HighNote SkyBar and reserve a table for us for after dinner drinks. All in all, it was very enjoyable.

Extraordinary Fine Dining, exceptionally beautiful atmosphere and attentive service. We loved everything about our stay at the Aria Budapest but the cherry on top was our thoroughly enjoyable meal at Liszt Restaurant.
Everything from the bread and butter to dessert was top notch. We loved the varied Menu that showed extraordinary skill and creativity with vegan dishes as well as elegant takes on delicious local classics.
Our Dinner here was a last minute decision prompted by by our stay at the hotel and convenience, BUT Liszt should not be missed when in Budapest. EXTRA EXTRA Extraordinary!!

The restaurant is split across a couple of rooms. Plenty of room to eat without really being aware of other diners. Well thought out dishes - locally themed, tasty, beautifully presented. Favourite dish was the then and now chestnut puree, the now version in a chocolate egg looking almost alien in green.

Dear Nick_the_traveller,
Thank you for joining us at your recent visit at Budapest. We were happy to read that you have enjoyed your meal and tried a wide range of our dishes. Our menu was selected carefully of the best ingredients. We can only agree with you, the chessnut puree "Now and then" is trully a magnificent and unique signature dessert of ours. If you are in the city, please, try our newly released menü from 1.st april. Wish you the best!

We had dinner here on a Saturday night, ordering two cocktails (Sloemo and Nocturne), both of which were excellent.

We had the duck breast appetiser to share, and the mushroom risotto and the goose pot roast for mains.

The service, provided by Martin, was excellent - a great guy and very attentive.

Thanks for the nice evening, a great vibe and a nice private atmosphere!

This restaurant is for fine dining. The design of the place and the settings were really great. The food was nice.
My only regret was that this restaurant was not ready to serve accurately a small group of 10 people at the highest standard.
