Just back from Budapest after a 3 night city break staying at the cosmo hotel, got a bus from the airport to the tube then a tube to the main city. ( BE WARNED THERE IS A VACI UT AND A VATCI UTCA DONT DO WHAT WE DONE AND SPEND AN HOUR WALKING UP THE WRONG ROAD BEFORE BEING TOLD IT WAS THE WRONG PLACE).Having eventually arrived at hotel it was brilliantly situated just off a main pedestrianised shopping area. The hotel rooms are small but big enough for 2 people, very well decorated and clean. safe is in wardrobe and is free to use also air con is free which is nice as we have stayed in hotels where we have paid extra for it. staff friendly enough. breakfast pretty poor really. starts at 7 finishes at 10.00 but if you get there after nine no rolls left no boiled eggs and lucky to get a seat.was going to try the cooked breakfast but decided it looked disgusting so gave it a miss. must say overall a good little hotel and well worth the money, if you want to eat in there restaurant you will get 10% discount as you are staying there. Budapest is a beautiful city majority of people very friendly and most of them speak good english. pest is probably the better side of the two where as Buda does have the castle the hospital underground and the chapel in the rock which you must visit. we took a 1 hour cruise up the Danube around the beautiful margaret island and back again well worth the money about 400 forant each just over a pound. loads and loads of shops on pest side if you like shopping, huge west end shopping centre. All in all a great holiday weather was nice to and would recommend the city to any one thinking of going.dont hesitate to email me if you have any questions about the city or hotel or the transport i will only be to pleased to help.

The Hotel is very central, 2 minutes walking from the Great Market Hall and very close to the main attractions in the city centre. We neither buy the 24 h public transport ticket as everything was at a reasonable walking distance and we only moved on foot.
The hotel is ok and the value for money was very good as we paid around 50 Euros per night for a double room. But definitey far from the idea I have of a 4 star hotel!
The service was average and the cleanliness was ok when we arrived but then, on the following days, I guess they just passed quickly a cloth on the sink and the toilet everyday and reorder the bed and they always left the window opened as a bad smell was coming out from the pipes. Apart from the restaurant (open for tourists all day long with a separated entrance from the one of the hotel) for the breakfast, which was good and open buffet, there was no gym, no spa, the interiors were just plain white white walls and no special furniture anywhere. No common or lounge area. The trolley with the sheets and the towel was left all the time in the landing and not in a specific, dedicated room... And my room (103 at the first floor) was linked to the beside room by a common door from which I could listen my neighbours snoring...

If you forget that it is a 4 stars, it is a good base to visit the city (trying to use the "sandwich technique";-))

Room Tip: ask them if your room has a door in common with the other room.

The hotel is located in one of the main streets of budapest, staff was kind and helpful (they allowed to check us in 5 hours earlier than the scheduled time) and our room was big and clean

Breakfast was served in the bar of the hotel, and it was also possible to order room service for dinner at the same bar-restaurant.

I have been there at the end of February and I stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is in an old building and the way they used the interior is absolutely amazing. The only thing which is a minus is the fact they don't have free private parking and it's quite pricey. The rooms are small, but I think they are perfect for a holiday. The best part is the fact you are in the middle of the city center, close to all the wonderful attractions. The breakfast buffet was also good and the restaurant were they serve is absolutely lovely. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a perfect vacation in Budapest.

The room is small and lacks a desk (there is a small circular table). There is a TV with 15 channels. The hotel overlooks Vaci Utca. The hotel has restaurant. Each room has a: safe, queen-sized bed, air conditioning, and minibar in fridge. Thick dark curtains keep out most of the light. There is daily maid service. There is a functional shower and newly renovated bathroom. Breakfast is included in the price. Buffett breakfast includes: hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sunny side up eggs, tomatoes, peppers, cereals, breads, yogurts, cheeses, meat cutlets, 3 types of juices, and hot drinks, and is served from 7:00a.m. to 10:00a.m.

The hotel has rooms on 4 floors and an elevator that gets stuck on an almost daily basis in August 2011. Payment is expected upon check-in, either cash or credit card, and is accepted in Euros. A key for the front door entrance of the hotel is not given, but an employee works at the reception desk 24/7 and buzzes anybody into the hotel who appears to be a guest rather than a criminal.

Room Tip: When you check in, ask if the elevator has gotten stuck in the past week; if affirmative, accept a l...

The hotel is very clean, our double room was enough large, all equipment felt new. The breakfast had enough variation, fresh fruits and vegetables, in addition to salty/sweet pastry, variations of eggs, sausages and juices. Two things could have been a bit better. First, the nice room we have received in the top floor had a shared door with the neighbouring room. Of course the door is locked, but the feeling and nice coming from your "neighbours" felt a bit too close! I believe the room can be "opened" and is used for families otherwise. Second, the "welcome package" was a funny name for a bag full of advertising, but gives you a starting impression, if it is your first time in Budapest. In general, the reception service could have been a bit more professional or friendly, but no major problems at all! I recommend this hotel! P.S. Never visit the neighbouring restaurant called Galilei, the biggest rip-off and cheaters!

Room Tip: Top floor was nice, but there was the "shared" door room, which I do NOT recommend, due to...

Location could not be better really. Hotel is located on Vaci Utca which is one of the main streets in Budapest. Literally steps away from the main market, shopping area and bars, caffees & restaurants.

The hotel was amazing. We had a really large room with big windows. Interior is quite funky I would say, very modern with use of pink, black and purple colours. Bedrooms very clean.

Reception staff was abolutely exceptional, very friendly and helpful. Even though we arrived in the middle of the night, the girl at reception was really nice and so proffessional. Welcomed us with a big smile and gave us a welcome pack (contained map, info about hotel and the city). I wish all hotels have such staff.

Breakfast was also really good. However restaurant staff was not very engaged with guests. Polite but had a feeling like they tried to avoid any conversation etc.

Anyhow, I would definitely reccommend this hotel and I would certainly return to Cosmo if again in Budapest...
