Zrinyi Guesthouse

With an objective eye the whole object needs a renovation. Especially the bathrooms. The best point of the hostel is that for a price of 14 EUR per night You have a seperate room, double or twin, in other hotels you could only get 10-people dorms for that. The location is nice close to most of attractions although next time I would choose something near the sinagog where the cheap food section is, next to Zrinyi the cheapest thing to eat is minimum 15EUR.

Apart from the noise that everyone is complaining about (I was so tired after the whole day of waling that I had not a single problem with sleeping) the stuff is terrible. It is like it doesnt even exist. Not helpful at all with a whatever attitude.

Summing up, nice for a short stay, adequate to the price, in the very center but noisy, in an expensive surroundings (Four season hotel just in front) and with so so stuff. Frankly next time I will choose another acommodation.

It's cheap with clean rooms, but the noise from the disco EVERY night is very hard and do not expect to get a whole nights sleep while you are staying. The location is absolutely perfect. Its located on the most beautiful street in Budapest and you can walk everywhere.

A group of 4 stayed here for 2 nights while travelling Europe. At €10 a night we were not expecting much. It's very basic but has all the facilities needed. First impressions were good, with a nice big room. One major problem was the lack of Air conditioning! It was very hot at night and it was almost impossible to sleep at night, the room was very uncomfortable to stay in. When we requested a fan, the lady at reception had practically no english but we eventually got a fan, which made no difference. We were not informed about the kitchen facility that was available either, and the staff occupied the only guest computer available. I would recommend looking for somwhere slightly more expensive for a more comfortable stay and some sleep!!

Room Tip: Choose another hostel, just make sure it is a safe district!

I found the management helpful, room a decent size and facilities pretty good for the money. The disco was on two of the four nights was there, but earplugs work... All in all a good value crash pad..

Price and location are pretty good, but there is a lack of courtesy by the manager/ owner. His attitudes seems to be of someone who is doing you a favor rather than someone who works in the hospitality industry. We rang 3 days prior to our arrival to make sure we could get an early check in ( actually , a extra night as we arrived at 2.30 am) . We were told there would be no problem, but after checking in that night we were rudely informed that the manager/owner had no knowledge of us at the time we arrived.
It was also very hard to find the place as well, as there's nothing in front of the building saying that there's a guesthouse there. We asked around the bars that were open at the time and no one seemed to know the location of Zrinyi.

I cannot wait to write this review. I read other reviews about the noise but I thought I could handle it with a earplug. I was too naive. The rooms are right above the courtyard where the DISCO party lasts until almost 400AM. It is not the noisy you can expect from street cars or people's talk. It's DISCO party!

The room is simply and clean. The public toilet is clean. The location is wonderful. If there's no party, it is not a bad choice though.

We stayed here in last summer. The rooms are really nice but without private bathrooms. For the price, this place is excellent.

It is very centrally located. Most places of interest are walking distance from Zrinyi.

A lot of reviews complained about the noise... I think that made the hostel a fun place to stay at :)

The staff was helpful. They recommended a traditional hungarian restaurant (I am forgetting the name!) that was a great place for dinner.
