My girlfriend and I stayed at Zara in Feb 2012 and were very impressed with all aspects of the hotel.

The hotel is set in a beautiful old building that has been renovated recently with the addition of a brand new wing to the side. The hotel is situated on a quiet road at a good location - roughly halfway between City Park and the Buda area - and a short walk to the St. Stephens Basilica area.

We had a standard room which we felt was perfectly adequate in size. We had seen other reviews saying a larger room is required but we we're quite happy. The room came with all the trimmings (robe, slippers, tea/coffee, hair dryer, toiletries, tv, free wifi etc) and were nicely decorated and extremely clean. Even the fittings and fixtures (switches, sanitaryware, lighting etc) were of a very high quality and the queen bed was luxurious.

Our fare included breakfast which is a very impressive buffet-style spread that will cater for all tastes. We didn't end up trying the roof top spa or the restaurant, Araz, but heard nothing but good things from other guests. Further more, from the outset the staff were helpful and always friendly - printing train times for us, ordering taxis, helping with our bags etc.

The hotel offers great value for money, especially as you can pay far more elsewhere and receive much less. We thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Budapest and we shall stay here again should we be lucky enough to return to Hungary.

The hotel is located in the citycentre, close to public transport. The moment i came into the hotel, i felt really welcome. The staff( everyone)was really friendly. The room was not very big, but light and modern. The cleaninglady did a really good job, because everything was soo clean! Maybe it was just a little bit too hot in the room and i don't understand the heatingsystem. Maybe you can ask at the front desk too help you. The best thing to do is to ask for a room with view on the Yard, because it could me noisy outside during the weekend. I had a standard room and it was nice, but it was hard to move sometimes with two adults around. The breakfast was good, but it was very crowded on sunday. it was hard to find a place to sit and find something to eat. The staff did all they can, but the bread and croissants were always gone. The swimming area was really nice and the view was amazing. There is also free wifi in the room. Make sure you eat something in the restaurant! The food was tasty and cheap! Thank you Continental Zara, to make my stay wonderful!

Room Tip: Ask during the week for an upgrade Ask for a room with view on the garden.

I'm sure I'll go back with my family to Zara hotel, we had room double size with very good and nice service in every thing there, such as cafe gallery, resturant. in general, I advice you to visit it and to stay in Zara hotel once you are in Budabest.

stayed for four nights at the zara and loved it. one of the most impressive entrances to a hotel with its copper clad revolving door which leads into the beautiful lobby complete with grand piano.the reception staff were so cheerful even though it was -10 outside when we arrived. our double room was modern with all mod cons you would expect in a quality hotel like this.we even had to turn the heat down as the room was so warm.breakfast was included in our rate (approx 240€ for 4 nights, very reasonable) and it was the best buffet we have had in any hotel over the last 5 or 6 years.they catered for everyones tastes and served the finest coffee i think ive ever had.the mezzanine floor is stunning in this hotel and the bar area is so comfortable to hang out in after a day in sub zero temperatures. we loved this hotel and would stay here again in a heartbeat. its 10mins walk from danube and city centre and mins from europes largest synagogue.
top class hotel at very affordable rates.you will do well to find better in budapest

Room Tip: they have an imac for clients use in bar area but its hard to see as its in a partitioned area marke...
