Description: Tapas y copas – The second member of the Pata Negra restaurants opened its doors in 2009 in Buda, in the Frankel Leó Street. Authentic Spanish atmosphere and flavors are waiting for you with the finest delicacies of Spain on the other side of the Danube: wines of various protected geographical indications, hams, cheeses, as well as meat and fish meals prepared according to Spanish recipes. We also offer a uniquely large selection of vegetarian, lactose- and glucose-free dishes.

This was my second dinner in this lovely place on a very hot summer evening before a concert on Margaret Island. Great tapas selection, friendly and smooth service, acceptable pricing, so we enjoyed it again very much. The only complain or suggestion for development is the very narrow terrace which is above the land by 10 cm-s. If you are not realising that, you can fall down easiliy. This strange and dangerous set up should be solved asap! Otherwise this is a great place if you would like to have a light dinner with great Spanish wine before theather or a concert.

Pata Negra is one of our favorite hideaway places. But if you're not already married, it is also an excellent way to impress a to-be-significant-one :)

The staff is very friendly and smiling. Allow them about 10 minutes to prepare the food, after that the plates are being brought quickly after each other.

Recommended is the spinach and the duck; their jamón tastes great as well.

Tips:
- make sure you try their wine Torres de Anguix Barrica
- the normal bread is very cheap and tastes well, good trade-off for the hungry ones on budget :)

Note that Budapest has two Pata Negras, the Pest side being lot more busy. The one on the Buda side had always had free tables, but the same delicious food.

The portions are quite big for a tapas bar and the duck is pretty good!

We had a casual dinner with our friends from US on the Pata Negra terrace on one of the early summer evening of this season. Smiley and prompt service, excellent food - that's what we liked the most. The only thing caused a really inconvenience during our dinner was the accident, when one of us falled down because of the not forseen level difference between the narrow terrace and the sidewalk. Everybody was shocked on the terrace for a moment, but finally we were lucky not having serious injure but the shame. Still, I do recommend this place to go out but be carefull sitting on the terrace!

I've been looking for a good tapas restaurant in Budapest, and Pata Negra seemed to be the best choice.
Fortunately this proved to be true. The restaurant has a very authentic, Spanish atmosphere, everything is very clean (including the toilet) and simple. The staff is very friendly, and the meals are good. We ordered five different dishes, the fish was the best, but the rest were also delicious.
Finally we ordered cheese cake - highly recommended!
I'm sure this has not been our last time at Pata Negra. Don't miss it if you're in Budapest.
