Owner description: Be our guest in our authentic Faust Wine Cellar under the Dominican Cloister - the part of the UNESCO World Heritage! We are offering about 80 sorts of Hungarian wines and 30 sorts of "Pálinka". During the week we are organizing special wine and "Pálinka" tastings guided by our sommelier!

We went to the wine cellar 2pm on saturday when it opened. Luckily because they were fully booked for the whole day but managed to squeeze us in for the short tasting (6 wines). Book a table especially if you want to go there on weekends. The place is really small and intimate.

They serve wines from small wineries that produce only thousands of bottles and the owner knows everything about the wines and the wineries in Hungary.
Great experience!

We went to this on the evening I proposed to my fiance....what a perfect choice! Such a romantic venue (candlelit and only about 6tables). You walk down several steps below the Hilton hotel into a cool cave and are greeted by a very knowledgable crew who offer you 1 wine at a time from a set menu for a very reasonable 20 off euros. Excellent value for money and a very relaxing time to spend a few hours. It helped give me some extra courage required to get down on one knee. Dont miss the excellent hungarian sweet wines - you can take some home at a reasonable price. The hilton also has an excellent restaurant with an awesome view of the river and city - but be warned although the food was excellent and there was lovely cocktail pianist playing it was pretty darn expensive - even in London price terms! But worth it for a splurge!

Brilliant! The excellent reviews of this place are not wrong. At first, I thought it was a little bit expensive but the wines (& scones) and, in particular, the knowledge of the hosts makes this a terrific experience. The venue alone makes a visit worthwhile. If you are a wine connoisseur then you might think this is not all that, but if you just like a glass of wine or three and know what you like and dislike then this place is highly recommended. It was great to taste some wonderfully delicious Hungarian wines (so unlike the ones in UK supermarkets). I would return to Budapest just to visit Faust.

Great wine, amazing venue and wonderful hosts! An absolute must! Take more cash then you need as if you want to buy a bottle they have no facility to take card, and you will want to buy something!
