“Very nice experience”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

We did the original tour in the morning with Anita and the communist tour in the afternoon. Both were really interesting, they both new a lot about the city, they shared their honest point of view as residents from Budapest.
Both tours were free, it was possible to give a tip, they suggest between EUR 5-10
Great tour, very interesting, very recommended!!

“1 of the best walking tour we undertook in our 1 months Europe trip”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Went on 10 Dec 2012 morning walk and our guide Anna speaks good English. She brought us to an Irish pub, sit use down (to use the WC) and talks history when we are comfortable. Absolutely thoughtful in the cold winter day. We then went on to cross the chain bridge and make it up to castle hill. The group walked. I took the funicular tram due to my back's condition. Whole tours ended well and Anna even brought us to a Hungarian canteen and helped us to order food (menu all in Hungarian). Super thoughtful. :)

Dear LorenzSingapore,

We are grateful for your taking the time to write such an in-depth and thorough review on Anna's General Walk.

We always try to adapt to the weather conditions, be it a little too cold or hot outside on every tour we offer (for example, choosing indoor venues for certain topics).

The canteen on the Castle Hill is a natural choice for us to help our guests order Hungarian food - at the end of the walk, we always have a lot of hungry people on our hands.

The option to take public transport instead of the uphill walk is also an important part of our procedures, so thank you again for highlighting these to the travel community.

We hope to meet you again in Budapest.

With kind regards,

The Free Budapest Walking Tours Team

“Engaging guides and great introduction to Budapest!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

I would thoroughly recommend! Our tour guides Endre and Aron were brilliant, great at covering a multitude of angles, from the history of the city to local urban traditions and kept us well amused! The general walk was the perfect way to start exploring the city and get our bearings on the first day, would love to try the jewish tour next time we visit as really enjoyed the experience!

Dear JenPenInGlasgow,

We're glad to read your brilliant review on Endre and Aron (and so are they).

Thank you for pointing out the usefulness of the tour upon arrival to the city - it is clear from the reviews in the last couple of years that the earlier one goes on the tour, the richer the rest of the experience in Budapest.

We're awaiting you back on the Jewish tour, like you promised!

With kind regards,
