Definitely the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Cozy place, great location, VERY friendly and helpful owner Alex (who cooked us local food, took us to very nice bar), low price... We returned yesterday after 4 days and I already miss it. Don't hesitate to go there, Budapest is worth it!

Photos of hostel website are not actuall (but rooms look almost the same and they are really that clean!), but hostel is newly renovated, very clean (everyday comes cleaning lady) in beautiful old house in the very center of Budapest with a several fast foods around. Also just a 5 minutes walk from very nice bars and restaurants both with local or international cuisine.

Rooms were simple but cozy, showers very clean, always with hot water.

Living room with sofas is great if you like to meet new people or just sit down and relax for a while. A laptop was here and everybody could use it for free (internet access, music). In hostel you can find book guides to budapest, maps etc.

Breakfast was like at home - eat what u want, Alex every day bought fresh vegetable, bread etc. You can have honey, sausage, eggs, coffee, tea, milk, jam, nutella, cheese etc etc. Nobody had a problem to find what he really wants :)

Alex was helpful telling you what to see in Budapest, he was able to prepare entry tickets to spas in city (the same price as in spa cash). Really friendly guy!

I've stayed in several hostels all over Europe, but this was without a doubt the best of them!

Don' get mind the outer facade or the stairway. The Budapest Centrum Hostel inside is very cozy, clean and comfortable. It's located in the city center in Pest. You can walk in 5 minutes to the parliament or to the St. Stephans basilika. To the known chain bridge and the shopping street Váci Utca you just need 10 minutes walk.
Alex, the host is a very calm and helpful guy. At our arrival he gave us a city map, hints what are the best points of interest and some insider tips. You can buy tickets, post cards and stamps at the hostel. Alex made breakfast for us and one evening we sat together and had some delicious hungarian dinner made by him.

If we ever will come back to Budapest the BC Hostel will be our home :)

P.S.: Thanks to Alex for the outstanding service.

Everything was perfect. You can walk to the Danube and the parliament in just 5 mins. The room and bed were clean and new. I stayed in an apartment for 2-4 persons. There were only me and my boyfriend in the apartment with private bathroom and kitchen. the only thing that needs to be improved is the direction to the hotel in their website which is not so clear. It said "follow the yellow arrow" which does not exist.

We also had a problem at check in. We arrived at 14.00 which is a normal check in time. We rang the bell but no one answered. We waited hopelessly in front of the locked door for 10 mins. A stranger guy came to help and used his own cell phone to call the hostel. The staff said he was waiting for us! :-(

The hostel is clean, it has 2 bathrooms, kitchen, frige and a living room that is shared by all the people acomodated at the hostel.
The room i stayed in had 4 beds and a bathroom but you had acces to the living room that had LCD TV, Laptop, Sofas - great for chiling out.
The owner is calm and a fun guy to hang out with. He makes you breakfast: eggs, toast...
We got to the hostel at about 11 pm but it was no problem and he greeted us in our own language.. This is a sign that he cares..
I recomend it if you go to Budapest: Cheep, Clean, Fun, Good Food, Good Internet, Many Parking spaces in Front, Very central part of the city.

Room Tip: The room on the left of the living room was the one i stayed in ... It is ok for a 4 people delegati...

The hostel is located in a very cool old building. It may be a bit tricky to find, but once you do, you'll see how wonderfully located it is! I especially enjoy being able to walk around a city, so this was very convenient for that. We booked a private room, which was basic but very spacious. Bathrooms were shared, but were clean. Breakfast was basic, but a nice little start to the day. The kitchen, common area and wi-fi were all great.

Alex, who runs this hostel, is a very fun, entertaining and well traveled guy! And he honestly wants you to experience and LOVE Budapest. Which we did! One night, he made dinner for us. On another, he took us out at night to a really fun and unique bar. There weren't many travelers at the hostel while we were there, but it sounds like this is not the norm. I've recommend it to friends traveling to Budapest and they aren't always able to get in.

Overall, it was a good value and great experience!
