Our tour was amazing full of information and a very relax way just because our guide Veronika really knows about the history of Hungary and Budapest and do this with passion and professionalism. She gave us the opportunity to fall in love by Budapest biking around.
She is very generous, always kind and avaiable to explain everything! We love too much!!!

Our guides Laslo and Veronika met us in the city centre near st Stefan Basilica and made good impression on our group. They greeted us and we began our excursion. The trip was amazing, guys told us a lot of exciting stories, gave us interesting tasks during the cycle trip (e.g. find the statues in the park and state who these personalities were). Also Laslo and Veronika showed us wonderful places where we could take great photos of the city sights. To be short, the way they led the excursion was extremely positive. Everyone was pleased with this trip. And 2 hours seemed like 30 minutes. We really wanted to continue. Hope we shall meet again in Budapest

Our guide for this tour was Peter. If you plan on just showing up at the meeting point, we suggest that you contact the company first as this tour is by request only, and must be booked by email. Chris was very prompt at replying to our email inquiries.
We were a very small group of 7 and Peter had a wealth of knowledge about the sites we visited. He engaged us in discussion and always checked to see if we had questions. After visiting many sites, we headed out of the city, through Margit Island, and then through O’Buda. We stopped at a restaurant along the water and then headed back into town along the Danube as the sun was setting. Peter’s enthusiasm, knowledge and “teaching” style, along with the biking, made this tour one of the highlights of our stay in Budapest. He was also very generous with his time and the tour was much longer than what was anticipated.
Apparently he also guides a much more intensive communist history bike tour. He had given us the option of doing this tour instead, but we opted for the less intense tour along with exploring the outskirts of the city.

Veronica is AWESOME! She gave us what turned out to be a semi-private bike tour around Pest, the mostly flat part of Budapest. We had such a great time with her and learned so much--she's a wealth of knowledge about Budapest's history and also the best places to go at night. We loved our morning out with Budabike Tours!

We scheduled a private bike tour and had the great pleasure of riding with Peter. We gave him some ideas of what we wanted to see ahead of time and over the course of several emails he put together a fabulous tour of the popular sites, and also places in the city that most tourists never see. His knowledge of Buda and Pest, and their history was terrific and we liked our first tour so much we arranged another one for our last day in the city where the highlight was the story of the 1956 uprising and a look at buildings still showing signs of the event. Certainly not for everyone, but our interest was in getting the know the city, where it was and how it's moving ahead now. Best tours of our 2 weeks in Europe. Highly recommended.

Our group of four took this tour today and we had a great time. Our guide, Perrine, was thoughtful and knowledgeable and did a fantastic job corralling seven total participants safely through the city while providing us with an overview of the sights and history of Budapest. She encouraged questions and answered every one thoroughly.

Perrine also offered some great tips on local restaurants and bars as well as other sights to see during the remainder of our time in Budapest.

Highly recommend this tour and Perrine as a guide. The route is flat and safe, despite some traffic. Budapest has great bike lanes and much of the tour takes place in parks and on tree-lined side streets.

Our tour guide did a wonderful job showing us the city. We were lucky to have a small group and everyone got along well. We would highly recommend this tour - especially as a first time visitor to Budapest!

It seems this company has new owners and the tour we had was dreadful. We did a bike tour with Christoff. Only good manners stopped me from dropping out of the tour and refusing to pay. While he is clearly passionate about his country and the city, he clearly has some radical views bordering on being an anarchist, clearly not liking tourists (which he reminded us of several times) and blaming women for some of the troubles Hungary currently faces. For example, women wanting to be employed rather than staying home and having multiple children. Also, the fact that apparently women could divorce their husbands for no reason and then took everything, was why we saw homeless men on the streets. The tour was advertised as being 2 hours and nearly went for 4, and would have been longer if we had not indicated we needed to get back. He arrived with 5-6 folders and when we stopped along the route he spent 15 minutes plus showing us the pictures, maps etc in the folders. While some of the information was interesting, it was overwhelming. So, we got to see a picture of the shoes memorial rather than the memorial itself, despite being about 20 metres from a shoe sculpture. He did not explain anything about the traffic rules before setting off. At one stage one of our party followed him across an intersection and into the path of an oncoming car.

Dear Terry, I am the owner of Budabike! I am very sorry for what happened on your tour! My deepest apologies. Kristof is not a regular guide, he is a freelancer and against our clear orders to show Budapest in the best way focusing on the sights and its unique history, he became political and personal. Unfortunately Budabike is as good - in lots of cases - or as bad in your case as our guides are on their tours. I believe everything happened exactly as you have written. I must say this, as sometimes we get fake bad reviews. There is nothing to discuss or argue about your tour, it went just totally wrong. Due to a massive growth in tourism in Budapest, we need sometimes freelance guides to cover the demand and this can threaten the quality. Unfortunately we can´t control all the tours, we can only try to avoid such a bad experience you had in the future. Kristof will not do tours anymore for us. We always try to do the best as a team, but there is never 100% with humans and sometimes we fail. ;-( Sorry again for that! I can´t change the past, but I try to work for a better future. This why I would like to invite you and your family or friends for a free private bike tour in Budapest, whenever you are back or wish to do so.

We had a wonderful time on our bike tour with Perrine from BudaBike tours. It was easy to find her-(she found us) in spite of the large crowd that was there for a night film festival on the square. Perrine was very knowledgeable about the history, the area, and the people and monuments and was engaging with our group. It was an easy ride at a pace the suited our group so we were able to get a lot in on a 2 hour ride. I would definitely recommend Perrine and BudaBikes as a great way to get a great overview of Budapest!
