The hotel is at a pretty good location the the main walking street area (about a 5-10 minute stroll). The room was modern and clean. The front office staff helpful and accommodating. Overall it was not a bad stay in Budapest.

Excellent value-for-money. The hotel rooms where spacious with comfortable beds. The hotel itself is not the most beautiful or romantic, but its perfect for a weekend trip with friends. Service was good, internet worked perfectly and the location of the hotel is excellent, close to almost everything. Would for sure recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good and affordable place to stay.

I found room and bathroom very clean, Bed was very comfortable.

Location is excellent, Astoria metro station is couple of minutes walk from hotel.

Taxi will drop you at the back of hotel as there is no waiting area in front of the hotel

TV has only 3 English channels, all 3 are news channels,

Electronic safe in the room so your valuables can be stored safely

Will definitely recommend this hotel.

Take Care

Myself and my wife went to Budapest for a short three days holiday in mid June 2014 and stayed in this hotel. It's centrally located and very near to the Danube riverfront. The hotel is quite neat and clean and is very basic standard. The rooms are simple and clean having all amenities. It's categorized as three star as it actually is one. The awkward thing about the hotel is that you can't enter the hotel through the front door if you come by car as on the main road there is no chance to wait. You have to enter from the rear alley road and drive your suitcases quite a bit to come to the reception. A good hotel for the budget-minded.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter

After 3 nights at ESH, we are really satisfied. The location is in the middle of everything, close to restaurants, bars, museums, bus station etc... You will find parking if u travel by car (15€ / 24H). Rich breakfast. Helpful stuff. If you need a good rest, ask for a quiet room (not a front room).

The location is handy, being between the Astoria and Deak Ferenc metro stations. Red lights set into the pavement show you the way into the hotel itself and once inside, the reception area is large and cool, a pleasant change after the heat of the city streets, but avoid walking into the pool which is right opposite the door. The reception staff were pleasant enough, but seemed more interested in encouraging us to purchase the hop on hop off tours of the city than giving us real recommendations where to go.

The room itself was smallish with two beds pushed together to make a double. It did have a safe and minibar, but no kettle and the wifi was incredibly slow when you could get it at all. There was a sliding door to separate the bedroom from the bathroom and entrance area. The bathroom is small, but along with the bedroom, was very clean.

Overall fine, but no character to the room or hotel and breakfast was not included in the price of the room.

I just came back from Budapest yesterday after a 5-night stay at Eurostars Budapest Center. I traveled with my mum, grand-aunt and uncle and a family friend.

On first glance, the hotel is very pretty from the outside- modern-looking and clean. The receptionists, I realized, were mostly trainees (from Spain, if I'm not wrong) who don't know about Budapest. So if you're looking for information on what to do in the city, ask someone who does not have a "Trainee" tag after their name.

The room and bathroom were very spacious. I liked the big beds. Only thing is, my bed had bad springs and made a very springy noise every time I sat on it. On my mum's side, the material was horrible and every time she moved at night, it would be very loud. The room does not come with complimentary water or a hotel brochure with the information, so I found that was lacking. They provide great shampoo, shower gel and body cream. The only thing is the shower head is too strong so you have to hold it the whole time you're showering. That's a bit annoying, but you just have to sit down and shower.

The wifi connection was horrible. I had to stand at the door to get the connection and when I went back to bed, sometimes it would disconnect. The rooms were also not sound proof, so when the housekeeping cleans the room next to us, it is very loud- I could hear all the banging. On top of that, the housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:15am for two mornings in a row, so make sure you put the "do not disturb" sign if you want to sleep peacefully.

Out of everything, I was looking forward to breakfast the most. I love having buffet-style breakfast at hotels. Unfortunately this was a bit of a disappointment. There was a lot of varieties, but the quality of the food was below average. First things first- the plates are always wet as I'm guessing they take it straight out of the dishwasher and stack them up. This means that if you put bread on the plate, it will turn soggy by the time you get to your seat. I really hope the hotel will start polishing their plates. The toaster broke after 3 days, so you were left with soggy and untoasted bread. The flavored yogurt was all artificial, the bacon too salty. I didn't even touch the vegetables as they looked too oily.

This hotel really deserves a 3.5 out of 5 because the price is well worth it for 5 nights. But be prepared to have disappointments and don't have high expectations!
