“Great Location, Nice Interior, Good Service”
Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in room 315 for 3 nights last week. From the airport you can get bus 200 then the metro - route shows on map which you can get from airport tourist info. The hotel was pretty easy to find from Ferenciek Tere station - look for Kossuth L U street exit & walk straight on. If you have a map, you should be walking away from the white bridge & the river.

Our room was spacious, clean and internal facing (not bad as there's a water feature/pool below)... We booked a twin room as there would be more surface area, but the beds were so closely joined anyways making it a nice king bed for my husband & I.

We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but they offer €8 breakfasts & €15 three-course dinners, the weekly menu is displayed in the lifts. My husband really wanted to try goulash & one staff recommended to go to Ruben, which is a really nice little restaurant located on a hidden street right behind the hotel. IT WAS AMAZING. I would highly recommend anyone to try it. We had beef goulash as a starter, the pork loin wrapped in bacon & the pork knuckle main with a beer. Service was fast & food was delicious. Our bill was only 6700
HUF~ $29AUD.

The location of the hotel is pretty good as you're on a main road so it's pretty safe at night, also there are some 24 hr Turkish restaurants. Walking to the river or the main shopping square is about 10 minutes. We walked every where & rarely used transport. Walking to Heroes square via Audrassy rd is bout an hour, with nice scenery on the way. To cruise the river you can get a 24 hr ticket for 2100HUF for unlimited rides (each ride takes 1hr) - with English commentary. Located at Dock 10. Good alternative for those without a Budapest card or tours.

One thing to mention is that there seem to be a lot of roadworks at the major roads / intersections. Luckily there were none close to Eurostars but becareful with the hotels you book, otherwise you'll be hearing jackhammers & dealing with dust all day.

We arrived on the overnight train from Krakow at 0835 and the staff had a room ready for us which was very much appreciated. In fact the staff are one of the best things about this hotel.
The hotel is located on a busy main road but as soon as you step into the hotel you do not notice it. The rooms are well sound proofed and are very comfortable. The location is excellent with all the main attractions within walking distance. There are good cafes and restaurants all around the hotel and even a Tescos just up the main road!
I don't think you could get much better for the price.

This ended up being in a perfect location- we were on a tight schedule, only staying in Budapest for a few days, and with so much to see this place couldn’t have worked out better for us-- centrally located, right near touristy shopping and plenty of great local food options. Only a few doors down from one of the hop-on-hop-off bus stops too. The rooms were fairly standard for a 4 star, but it was clean, the staff was very nice and gave great suggestions for touring around- the breakfast that we had included was also pretty standard, but quite decent.

Room Tip: Make sure you request a room that doesn’t face the main street, as it will be noisy- we were lucky t...

We stayed in the hotel for 3 days. Had a good rate and central location.

Some pros and cons for a 4-star hotel:
- Great location: 10 minutes walk to the basilica Saint Stephen and 15 min to parliament. Next to shoppping streets and nightlife. Excellent location.
- Reception: good service, helpful
- Clean & new rooms. Make sure you don't take a room facing the main street (our mistake) - very noisy.
- Free wifi internet - however, very poor signal in rooms
- For some reason, the bathroom sliding door doesn't close completely - leaving 2 cm gap. Though there is another sliding door separating the bedroom from the small entrance & toilet, it doesn't feel comfortable.
- toilet paper available but no tissues in bedroom
- no complementary water
- no hairdryer
- no in-room information on how to make local/international calls and how to contact the reception.

My wife and I just spent a few days here. Given the positive reviews on here, we were really looking forward to our visit. However, things did not start off well. When we checked into our room – Room 210, being “seasoned travellers” we immediately checked the bed for bed bugs. To our chagrin we saw the signs of bed bugs – that is black specks on the mattress (http://thebedbugexterminators.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/bed-bug-mattress-cover-is-best-defense.html). We told the staff that we were not certain, but were worried about the possibility of the room having bed bugs, and therefore wanted a new room. They looked at us incredulously and looked really annoyed. Furthermore, we suggested they look into the problem so that: first, they don’t get an infestation, which is notoriously difficult to get rid off (and which their reputation may never fully recover) and second, so that the next unsuspecting, less vigilant, traveller does not carry on the infestation. These concerns, however, did not seem to bother them at all, and we’re not sure they knew what we were talking about.

Beyond this initial disaster, the hotel rooms were nice. Clean with modern appliances. The only other minor complaint we have is the showerhead was the removable kind, and if left mounted, sprayed water everywhere. As for location, the street the hotel is directly on is a little sad (as mentioned by previous travellers), but is close to all the major attractions and some great restaurants and trendy bars.

Even with the bedbug scare, had the staff treated us with the respect we deserved and had communicated their desire to look into the issue we would have ranked the hotel much higher. Again, we are not implying the hotel is dirty; however, no matter how clean a hotel looks, a guest can always bring bedbugs with them.

Great location, clean, comfortable and good breakfast selection. Reception staff helpful and we got an early check in. Good value. Would definitely stay again and recommend for a short break in Budapest.

Room Tip: Rooms on the road side are a bit noisy request an inner room.
