Even an overcast, wet, and dreary day couldn't slow Zsolt Jenei, our knowledgeable Discover Budapest tour guide from getting passionate about showing us his home town. About the only thing we didn't have time for were the Parliament Buildings and it's advisable to reserve your spot there over the Internet (easy to do). Cameras, even on a rainy day, are a must.
Although a walking tour, we did use the street car and the cute and oldest electrified underground railway system on the European continent to make our way around where necessary. Zsolt supplied all the tickets required for transportation.
The highlight was the wonderful visit to a local cafe where we enjoyed two exceptional Hungarian pasties (I had the strudel of which there were umteen sorts) and the hot drink of our choice to warm us up. A great day, Zsolt. Thanks.

We booked our walking tour with Viator as we had had an excellent tour in Kraków last year from the same company.
There were only 3 on the tour and the guide, Andi, was terrific- very knowledgable, bright and real fun. The city itself is the star as it is beautiful and a joy to walk round, however, it was made all the more enjoyable by the company.
I would recommend both the trip and the guide to anyone who wants to see the city

Awesome trip into the Budapest caves! We had a small group of 9 with a very knowledgable, fun guide who made us feel safe, comfortable, and always entertained. A member of the team met us at the bus stop and helped us with public transportation, and when we arrived, we were suited up, given lockers, and headed underground! The tour was a little longer than expected (be prepared for 4.5 hours or so) but it was definitely worth it. Great people, great tour, we would definitely recommend this!

The Castle district, which is large and offers wide views over the Danube River, was REALLY fun to explore on a Segway. It's easier than a bicycle to ride, and our guide was a very knowledgeable local university student who spoke excellent English. She mentioned the places to see in town and especially the one to avoid (the 8th District). The staff allowed my wife and me to re-book for the next day even though we missed our initial appointment.
My only difficulty was locating their offfice, which operates out of the tourist information booth. Be aware that the balls of your feet may ache after you Segway more than half-an-hour, because of the lean-forward stance needed for forward motion. My feet ached for a day, but I would go again, just not for a whole hour.

Thank you Eric for trying our Segway tour in the Castle District! Our staff is always happy to share their best recommendations and of course to have the greatest experience during one's stay. Find us in the downtown area as well, when you return to this beautiful city!
