Even an overcast, wet, and dreary day couldn't slow Zsolt Jenei, our knowledgeable Discover Budapest tour guide from getting passionate about showing us his home town. About the only thing we didn't have time for were the Parliament Buildings and it's advisable to reserve your spot there over the Internet (easy to do). Cameras, even on a rainy day, are a must.
Although a walking tour, we did use the street car and the cute and oldest electrified underground railway system on the European continent to make our way around where necessary. Zsolt supplied all the tickets required for transportation.
The highlight was the wonderful visit to a local cafe where we enjoyed two exceptional Hungarian pasties (I had the strudel of which there were umteen sorts) and the hot drink of our choice to warm us up. A great day, Zsolt. Thanks.
