Very nice hotel. It was even nicer than what we expected from the pictures and the rewieves on hotels.com. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and included in the price. Will not hestiate to stay there again.

We visited just for one night (sadly) but as leisure travellers with high standards, we were very pleased.

When we called to book, we had a very friendly chat with Peter on the front desk, who said he would be working when we arrived 4 days later - when it was just like meeting an old friend.

The hotel is beautifully appointed - at least everywhere we saw - with lovely, and interesting furnishings.

The staff were always happy to talk to guests and were very helpful:
* Recommending the 24 hour transport ticket meant we had one ticket from 2.30pm to 2.30pm which was perfect for our afternoon, evening and morning before leaving. We saved a LOT without going for the full tourist option on the Budapest card or the formal 2 day ticket.
* Recommending we take the beautiful stairs for the short walk to our room -a prettier arrival than the lift.
* With just one night, we wanted a nice memorable Hungarian meal in pleasant surroundings. We were recommended Rezkakas, which provided wonderfully attentive staff, good food, and a trio of live musicians who provided local background music. Thank you.
* When we returned from our second day out with 30 mins spare to collect our bags before leaving, we were encouraged to relax with a coffee, long after we checked out.

The sauna is useful for relaxing and freshening up after a day's walking before going out for dinner. With cold water and fruit, very nice surroundings.

The breakfast area had a wide range of buffet foods from cereals, breads and pastries, hot and cold buffet to juices and hot drinks. Plenty to set you up for a day in the town.

Our room was perfectly comfortable and equally beautifully appointed. There's no tea/coffee in the room, and the beds were hard by American standards (see other reviews) but the walk in shower, all the gently branded materials (from bathroom suppliers to chocolates on the pillow), nicely designed cupboard etc.... no complaints at all.

All in all a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a nice area (it IS quiet, but I saw that as a bonus being only a short walk or a metro stop from town). We LIKED our walk back to the hotel from the metro. There are students about from a location two blocks away, so there is a "nice" kind of life in the area. The businessmen are welcome to the big square megablocks.

We have stayed in many many places, and the intimacy and style of this hotel places it high on our list. Thank you all.

We stayed for 4 nights in a corner room on the fifth floor and enjoyed an excellent, spacious room that was both modern & clean. Booking in & out was efficient & the desk staff gave excellent recommendations as to the best eating places in the area. (Borrso Bistro is well worth visiting for a relaxed atmosphere & excellent food at a reasonable cost.)

Breakfast was a relaxed affair in an airy, attractive dining area. There were several times during the day when we returned to the lounge where we had 'free' use of the drinks machine: we highly recommend the chocolate milk!

The friendliness & helpfulness of the desk staff was very much appreciated; if we ever have the chance to return to Budapest again, this is the hotel for us.

I stayed here at the recommendation of a colleague who lives in Budapest and was not disappointed. We got a friendly reception when we arrived and check in was fast and efficient. I found the design of the room appealing, but it may be to everybody's taste, particularly the hardwood floor. The room is quite spacious and I was able to able to work at the table in comfort.
The WiFi connection worked perfectly and was free.
Breakfast was fine. I had dinner at a pub close by (Fiktiv Pub in Horanszky u.), if you want something more touristic you will probably have to head to the centre.
The staff are very helpful.
This hotel offers tremendous value for money.

There was a sense of drama about our one night at Budapest’s Palazzo Zichy. It came at the end of a two week river cruise and on the eve of a rail trip back to Vienna. Our taxi seemed to race through narrow streets to get there, and that night and next morning we had snow. The hotel is not located in a tourist hub and only serves breakfast. Desk staff recommended that for Hungarian cuisine we should walk to the Museum Restaurant beside the National Museum. As we struggled through the snow that night to the restaurant we did pass a number of bars. And despite even heavier snow on our return walk we were delighted that we had been to this wonderful restaurant. Although the hotel is a fairly grand building it does not oppress. Its boutique scale and comfortable lounges at the edge of its lobby give it a welcoming feel. It has free coffee and water there until 5.00 p.m. The staff are friendly, hospitable and helpful with more than adequate English. The décor is in sharp contrast to the late 19th century style of the exterior. This is an attractive well restored hotel with comfortable contemporary minimalist rooms, where everything worked to perfection. We paid 79 euros for B&B, a huge bargain for the quality and service.
The breakfast room was busy, but staff kept topping up all the dishes and beverages and there was plenty of choice. Like most buffets, if you didn’t like it, you designed the wrong breakfast for yourself.
I have no negative comments.
Our only regret is that our stay was so short.

We arranged for a hotel taxi transfer on arrival and I have to say this was a great start to the weekend, the driver was very friendly. The staff at reception are all lovely and very helpful and the hotel itself is very classic with a modern edge.
The room was very big for a standard room, with lovely high ceilings and a fabulous bathroom with rainforest shower, it felt very opulent. The bed was extremely comfy and the blackout curtains allow for a cheeky lie-in!
Having the free tea and coffee until 5pm was a nice touch and the bar tender was great, he gave us some excellent tips on what bars and clubs to go to.
Breakfast was delicious and had a huge choice. It kept us going until late afternoon.
I couldn't fault this hotel and will definitely stay again when we next visit Budapest.

We stayed at the Palazzo Zichy in mid-March 2010 and chose it because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. We expected to be blown away by it as it was no.1 of hundreds of hotels, so we had high expectations.

It wasn't perfect. The location is a short walk to town. Only a 10-15 minutes, but it's not dead central. Also they charge 15 Euros for parking. I'm being harsh on both counts here as parking is hard to come by in Budapest and it's not a bad deal.

There were many great things about the hotel though as has been mentioned in numerous other reviews. The room was nice, there's free tea and coffee, free (fast) wireless internet, the breakfast is excellent and the staff are very welcoming and helpful (coming out of the hotel to help with the parking for example).

So I still give it top marks and woudl recommend it.
