Palazzo Zichy is an excellent hotel nicely situated in a quiet eastern part of the city center, easy walk to the Central Market Hall and shops/restaurants on Vaci utca, 30 minutes walk to Chain Bridge and Parliament, or you can use nearby metro and bus lines. Hotel’s surrounding is a nice combination of small squares and side streets with cafes.
The check-in was quick, the front desk staff pleasant and efficient. The elevator worked smoothly and never had to wait too long for it. The hotel has a modern and fresh look, and it is very clean throughout. Just aside from the receptionist area is a nice comfy lounge with fantastic coffee machine, snacks, and a fridge stacked with bottled water which is all freely available until 5 pm. The hotel has one of the best business centers that I’ve seen, with two laptops, several PC machines and a printer, which all worked perfectly. Hotel’s restaurant serves excellent, plentiful breakfast buffet in a nicely designed atrium.
I booked a Junior Suite which was beautiful, on the top floor, overlooking a small church and roofs of nearby buildings. The room had several large windows that open to provide fresh air, lots of natural light, and was quiet except one night when people on the other side of the wall were extremely noisy. I liked the wooden floors in the room, lots of closet space and a laptop size safe. The only complaint was that Junior Suite was advertised as having king or queen size bed, while instead there were two single beds pushed together. But the bed was comfortable and these little things couldn’t spoil the great feeling of staying in such a nice room. Everything in the room worked perfectly. The bathroom was clean, modern and functional, with a nice combination of rainshower and handheld shower.
Overall my stay at Palazzo Zichy was excellent and I highly recommend staying there. I would definitely return because this hotel truly deserves its high ranking on Trip Advisor. Actually my great experience with this hotel started even before arriving there, thanks to Judit Rozsa, their Guest Relations Manager. Judit was wonderful, communicating promptly via email regarding my special requests and providing much useful information. Her kindness and professionalism, as well as the friendly and helpful staff of the hotel, sealed my positive impression about Palazzo and I can’t wait to visit again.
