A cold snowy magical Budapest welcomed us on the tarmac, but the 4 star Regnum Hotel on the Buda side of the Danube extended a very warm welcome indeed. From the moment we stepped into the hotel the service we received was spot on. On request, we were given maps and directions and possible musical venues and restaurants to go to. A no nonsense, functional suite of rooms served us well. We loved the comfort and space of the separate sitting room, the clean fresh cotton linen on the beds, fresh towels in the modern bathroom, a safe in the wardrobe and warm air circulating throughout. The kettle was a great addition, with coffee and a range of teas refreshed daily. Fizzy drinks and water from the mini bar were complimentary. The buffet breakfast was varied and appetizing. As a vegetarian I was very glad to see a vegetable and bean offering alongside the usual English breakfast and cereals, with various brown and white breads, croissants, cakes, jams, marmalade, sauces etc. On request, one of the waiters even got a recipe for me from the chef. I was given an umbrella every day to shield me from the snow. Being our sixth time in Budapest, we can honestly say that the people have become more friendly and helpful. The staff always greeted us with a smile. The only thing I did not like was the bar/lounge was adjacent to the lobby and as it was all open plan, it would not induce me to go in. I feel if they closed it off and cosied it up it would be better. There was no entertainment in the hotel so we had to either walk, commute of get a taxi across the bridge to where the action was. As the transport system is wonderful, the taxi cheap and the walk around the city magical, that was not a problem for us. We went on a very well priced groupon deal to this hotel and it was great value for money. To top it all off, wifi is free so I was able to keep in touch with family and friends. We would go again at the drop of a hat.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view

In my opinion is the best hotel in Budapest. Very good price, wonderful rooms, nice staff and good breakfast. The only bad point is that the closest underground stop is 10 mins on foot (from there 5 mins to the centre). However, the hotel is very close to the castle and the Parliament.

Room Tip: Superior room have the best quality/price rate

Liked the free WIFI, modern bathroom and space offered. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was soso as was lunch. Not bad, but not extraordinary for a 4 star hotel either. Did not like the dark furniture or set-up of the room. Would not hire this interior decorator ever.

An extremely friendly and helpful reception staff, big rooms and we slept very good for 7 nights in very comfortable beds in a guiet neighborhood. 0,8 km to the Metro and the bus just around the corner. Good healthy breakfast and nice to be able to stay in contact with home trough the wi-fi connection.

Room Tip: We had room No 506 situated on the 5th floor with a great terrace, very quiet and good to be able to...
