We just spent nine days at the Regnum. All I can say it it was excellent. We had a room with a balcony. Great staff, friendly and so helpful. The hotel offered everything we could need during our stay. Check out there web-site, they deliver it all.

Recently returned from a 4 night break in Budapest. Glad we stayed at the Regnum Residence as it is on the more picturesque side of the Danube. Location was in a quiet area but close to restaurants and public transport. Staff were superb but must mention two in particular, Bernadette and Christian (manager of catering). They really went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay there. Free drinks in the room was a bonus and if we return to Budapest would definitley stay there again.

We have just returned from a wonderful 6 night stay at the Regnum.
From start to finish everything about this hotel and our stay was fantastic. We had requested a room with a balcony, and although this wasn't guaranteed were given just what we asked for.
Our room was on the top floor on the corner, thereby having a wrap-around balcony which was huge! Two different perspectives. One looking up to the Castle/Palace which was stunning at night, and the other overlooking a small road leading to the Danube. The room itself is probably the best we have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, lovely decor, very spacious, the bed was VERY comfortable, and the bathroom was beautifully tiled with lovely fixtures and fittings. All mod cons including flat screen tv with BBC WS and CNN, excellent safe, kettle with tea and coffee and a fridge which was stocked with 2 bottles of water and 2 cans of coke, replenished for free every day! Other hotels take note, this was a welcome bonus and probably saved us about £20 in drinks for the week!
The breakfast was between 7am and 10am which was brilliant as it meant we could have a lay in if need be. The dining room was huge and spotlessly clean. Plenty of room so that you weren't on top of other diners. The breakfast itself was plentiful and with a variety of cereals, meats, cheeses, fruits, juices, pastries. Also there was hot food inc eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, beans etc but this did tend to be on the warm side. Coffee was from a Douwe Egberts machine which gave you a 3 way combo of either black, white or cappucino which was quite nice (well i had about 3 cups so i liked it!), also tea and herbal teas were available. It was a fantastic way to start the day.
The staff at the Regnum were absolutely fantastic at their jobs. Nothing was too much trouble, they were extremely kind and helpful and always had a smile. We mainly dealt with Viktoria and Anna-Maria on the Reception. (although there were others and forgive me for not getting your names, but you were all lovely) Both were really lovely, unbelievably patient, spoke embarrassingly good English (as did all the staff!) extremely helpful and a credit to the hotel. As a first point of contact, first impressions make a big difference. Not only was the reception area stunning and immaculate, but the Reception staff were superb.
I must at this point mention Timi and Krizstian from the Bar/Dining area. Again, both were so kind and pleasant and always interested in if you had had a good day or where you were going that day. Good luck Krizstian to you new arrival!
The hotel was in the perfect location for us, being on the quieter Buda side. Although this meant that we were away from the main action in Pest, it literally was only a 5 minute walk along the Danube to the tram stop (no.s 4 & 6) and a 2 minute ride over the bridge into Pest.
The transport system in Budapest puts our transport system to shame. We bought a 7 day City Pass for £25 (£12.50 each) which enabled us to unlimited travel on buses, trams, underground, and boats and a tremendous way to see the city. The transport was plentiful, reliable, fast and it made it extremely easy to get around Budapest.
We visited all the attractions in including the Citadel and Castle which were superb, plus Hero Square on Andrassy which was beautiful, especially on a hot summers evening. You must visit Memento Park (communist statues - amazing) a 30 minute bus ride out of the city.
There were lots of places to eat and drink although we found a local restaurant near to the Regnum thanks to the recommendation of the hotel called the Mandragora, which we ended up going to 3 times (it would have been 4 but they were closed on Sunday night!). The food was excellent as was the location because it was so close to Regnum and tired feet didn't want to walk too far!
The beauty of the Regnum was its location. When you've been in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Pest which was fast and noisy, it was so nice to come back to Buda and relax in the peace and quiet of this side of the city. Yet just 10 minutes across the water was this busy, beautiful Pest.
All in all we cannot stress how fantastic our holiday experience was at this hotel in this beautiful city. And we will definitely return, sooner rather than later.
Do not look anywhere else if you're thinking of staying in Budapest.
A note to the hotel:- Please do not change a thing and carry on the good work!!
Thanks once again for making our trip a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Room 501, great wrap-around balcony/terrace

I stayed in Hotel Regnum Residence with my family for 2 nights. It was our first time in Budapest. The hotel is located in a lovely quiet area, within a short walking distance of the city centre.
We stayed in a triple room, located on the first floor. The room met and exceeded our expectations. It consisted of a living room (with sofa bed for the third guest), a double bedroom, a bathroom and separate toilet room. Having two bathrooms in the room was a great benefit. Both the living room and bedroom were of a very good size. Surprisingly, the beds are very comfortable. We had a very comfortable two nights sleep. Lovely, soft pillows and extra pillows are available on request. The room consisted of the usual tea/coffee making facilities, free drinks from the mini-bar, plasma TV, laptop size safe, free wired internet and even a sewing kit! Cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel was excellent.
All fittings and fixtures in the room and bathroom were to a very high luxurious standard, with thought and precision put into every detail and aspect of the room.
Breakfast consisted of a buffet selection of breads, pastries, cold meats, fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon etc., as well as tea, coffee and juices. The orange juice in particular was delicious! You can choose to have breakfast inside or alfresco. Staff were very helpful both at breakfast and at the reception, promptly dealing with any queries or requests that we had.
Another nice thought from the hotel, is that if you are checking out early in the morning, they will give you a complementary breakfast pack for your onward journey, not to let you leave hungry!
We also availed of the special 9 Euro taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel. This saved us a lot of time and stress in getting to the hotel.
Another thing that caught our eye was that the hotel bar's prices were fair, reasonable and were the same, if not cheaper, than some of the bars in the city!
We ate in a lovely Italian restaurant, just a 5 minute walk south of the hotel, which had tasty pizzas and lasagne, again at reasonable prices, and was set on 3 floors with amazing views of the city.

Budapest itself is a lovely city, with great sights, history and architecture, shopping and no shortage of coffee shops!

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Budapest and at Hotel Regnum Residence. The hotel is a gem! Great rooms, staff, breakfast and most importantly: value for money!
You won't be disappointed!

This is a lovely small modern hotel on the Buda side of the city. If you want to be in a quiet location but within easy reach of the lively Pest side then this hotel is ideal. A short distance from the main road you can catch the tram or metro with good links all over the city. However my friend and I chose to walk most mornings along the riverside, with beautiful views of the Parliament building, down to the Chain Bridge (approx 15 mins) - which compensated for the buffet breakfast we ate each morning. We did also buy a weekly travel pass though thanks to the advice of the reception staff.

In fact the reception staff were the most helpful I have ever come across in a hotel - they just couldn't do enough for you. If we asked about a restaurant they would print details off, if we needed a corkscrew it was there whithin minutes and when my friend had her handbag stolen on the tram they were fantastic - ordering taxi's, directing us to the police station, offering to ring the tram company and the boat company we had been on a trip with (just in case my friend had left her bag on the boat). They were genuinley concerned for us and very upset that this had happened to us in their city.

We had a lovely twin room on the fourth floor with a balcony, which had been designed as a twin - not a double with the beds pushed apart, and a super modern bathroom with a power shower.

There was a small outside terrace where we chose to eat our breakfast most mornings in the sunshine and a small bar area with a computer for use by guests. Free wi fi was available in these areas and reception, though it would have been nice to have had it in our room.

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, though I would suggest getting a taxi back late at night as it is in the business district.
