“Cosy and charming hotel in Budapest”
Reviewed December 1, 2011

My staying in Gerloczy hotel has been extremely enjoyable. This majestic building dating end of the 19th century has been renovated with taste and refinement. The staircase is amazing. The staff at the reception was very helpful and considerate. Breakfast are served in a typical café at the groundfloor where you can also have dinner and lunches. The harp musician contributed to the cosy atmosphere of the restaurant. I will come back to that hotel if my path leads me to Budapest again;

Absolutely wonderful! Centrally located, easy to find, spacious room, front desk help incredible with directions and ticket purchase to "take the water" in Budapest and most importantly, the food was amazing. Breakfast was more delicious each day. We had dinner there also and loved every bite. Having a harp musician made the evening 'heavenly'. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Be aware that some rooms do not have an 'American' shower. Ask for it if it is important to...

I stayed in this wonderful, charming hotel last month. My 4 days were just splendid. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and we just loved the bathroom. Everyone in the hotel was very helpful and suggested great programs for us. Breakfast was delicious. Loved the cakes with coffee. Next time I go back to Budapest I will definitely stay there!!!!

Very good but poor house keeping. Beautiful room , great restaurant, but water spill from shower in the bathroom and our glasses had never been washed or changed for 4 nights during our stay.

Absolutely to recommend. The restaurant is excellent an individual. You can order anything per menu without using a buffet.

Room Tip: the two rooms with the balconies are very nice

Great and cozy place very well located in the middle of the old Jew neighborhood. The bistro is a must when a single coffee is a pleasure. I suggest the sandwiches and the desserts. The rooms could be a little bigger but you will find all the facilities needed. I am sure recommend and probably will repeat in my next stay.

18 October to 21 October. The staff were very nice and approachable in both the hotel and the cafe. Location within Pest is ideal for sightseeing and eating. Metros are nearby and opera lessons are given at a building right behind the hotel. If you walk around during the day you might be lucky enough to hear a rising star.

Recommended to me by my cousin, who lives in Budapest, and the staff was delighted to receive a recommendation from a local. Please do call in advance as I consider myself lucky to have called three days before my trip and been able to reserve a room.

The hotel recommended guide book, that you will find in your room, is an excellent trip guide as well. Just don't forget to leave it behind.
