“Wonderful Guest House that feels like home”
Reviewed October 18, 2008

The Danube Guest House was recommended by a friend and neighbor who visited Budapest in Summer 2008. Based on his recommendation, I booked a stay in late September/early October 2008. Visited Budapest, Vienna, Prague and then returned to Budapest and the Danube Guest House before returning to the US. The property is entirely renovated and very comfortable. Additionally, Bob and Zoli do a wonderful job of making their guests feel like family. From breakfast in the morning, to sightseeing recommendations, to dinner reservations etc. etc. etc. these guys were the best. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Budapest and highly recommend the Danube Guest House to other travelers.

We recently stayed in Room 1 for three nights, and would definitely stay here again. The Guest House is located in a great central location, with most sights in walking distance. Bob and Oli were wonderful hosts, very welcoming without being intrusive, and gave us some great advice on restaurants. Our room was immaculately clean and breakfast was plentiful - fruit, cereal, juice, and pastries - and tea and coffee were available throughout the day. Excellent value for money!

I stayed at Danube Guest House for 2 nights, 3-4 Sep 2008. The hospitality of the owners is very impressive. The room was very clean. The location is close to the city, easy to reach metro and sights. I really recommend this guesthouse.

I stayed at the Danube Guest House in the summer of 2008 and I had a great time!. I had planned to stay for only a week but I liked it so much that I extended my trip to two weeks. The Guest House is in a beautiful historic building in a great central location near the main Synagogue public transportation. Owners Bob and Zoli are very friendly and helpful and keep the place immaculate. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but it was very comfortable and well furnished although it did not have air conditioning. The price at 35 euros per night was quite reasonable. I highly recommend the Danube Guest House.

The Danube is a brand new guest house in the heart of Budapest. The building is classic and Bob & Zoli have completely remodelled every room in the large flat and added all new bathrooms. The result is a comfortable and immaculate place to stay, near the famous old synagogue, close to transportation and at very reasonable rates. I stayed with them for a week and will again on my next visit. I recommend the place wholeheartedly.

  • Liked — New, large, modern rooms in the heart of the city at very reasonable prices.
  • Disliked — It's a guesthouse so does not have large hotel services.
