very nice B&B
- well located!!
- nice owner who gives you many tips (+speaks perfectly english)
- clean accomodations and nice bedrooms
- definitely a very good ratio price/quality!

only disappointment: the breakfast (which is in a restaurant next door) is very small, not typical at all and not in adequation with the quality of the guesthouse. They only serve a sandwich or an old dry croissant with a cup of coffee or tea. We choose not to go there for our second morning in Budapest.

We advise this guesthouse!

Thanks for the kind review.

Your room it was 28 euro per person, unfortunately, the usual breakfast menu does not fit into the price.
But for extra charge you can ask anything...
Our breakfast is contains choice of three different sandwiches or croissant and hot drink. (tea or coffee)

I arrived back to the rainy UK yesterday after a fab trip to Budapest. Zoltan and Bob were AMAZING hosts, so knowledgable and friendly. Their restaurant tips were spot on! I enjoyed the ambience of Danube Guest house and look forward to bringing my boyfriend back one day. The rooms were beautifully decorated and my bed was exceptionally comfy! As my room was on the street I wished I had brought ear plugs to block out the background traffic noise but it wasn't too bad considering it is a busy street. The breakfast is in a cafe around the corner and my tip would be to get there earlier rather than later as both days we went we were only offered a hot drink and one type of sandwich as they said other guests had eaten everything else. Thanks so much for the hospitality - you have created such a gem in a truly beautiful city! Danube Guest House is in walking distance of pretty much everything!!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the terrace would be much quieter, or just take earplugs! This place is a gem!!

Danube is about 20 mins walk from kileti train station and very central. Close to Jewish quarter so lots of good ruin bars nearby. The excellent hosts know all the good places to go so take their advice. Wifi available. Breakfast vouchers for nearby cafe given. Lovely room, we had a comfy queen sized bed, shame no bath though.

Zoltan and Bob were very welcoming and provided excellent advise and orientation and could not have been more helpful. The room was small (as advertised) but very clean and comfortable with lovely decor. Breakfast is in a nice cafe around the corner and consists of a choice of filled rolls and a drink. This is a great value for money Guest House.

Location - Excellent base for exploring Budapest. It is just around the corner from the Astoria metro stop. There are a variety of bars and restaurants locally with all mixture of ages. We felt slightly uneasy at night due to a small number of people drinking on the streets and hanging around, however this in no way detracted from our stay.

Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean, a really comfortable bed, friendly and very helpful hosts, excellent location. Zoltan and Bob seemed always to be on hand to give helpful advice and took care to ensure that our stay was an enjoyable one.

Highly recommended.

This B&B is in an excellent location, a few minutes from Astoria Metro station and walking distance to the river and all the main sights. We were welcomed by Zoltan and Bob, who were charming and helpful and gave us good tips on what to see. The rooms are clean, nicely furnished and ours (Room 2) was particularly spacious. It was a little on the warm side. The hosts were most helpful, recommending places to visit and to eat and although we only stayed two days, we much enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is in a cafe round the corner. It is a nice cafe, albeit with a limited choice.

One minor issue is the list of rules posted in the room. It is a bit intimidating... one suggests if you break the toilet, there is a charge of €40!! I have never seen this in any hotel room ever, and we travel a lot. It is more than made up for by the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts, but we found the tone of the notice a bit off putting.

We would certainly recommend this to others, as a clean, friendly and affordable place to stay.

Room Tip: Room 2 is very spacious.
