Danube Guesthouse is a pretty decent and clean B&B located in the heart of the city, namely in an old Jewish neighborhood of Budapest. Its location is simply perfect: just a couple of blocks away from the largest synagogue in Europe (a must visit), very close to public transportation and in an area of small cafes/restaurants/take-aways.
DG is located on the second floor of an old building. The building itself may look scary at first, but once you arrive at the second floor of the building, you encounter a very clean and modern B&B. The rooms are not too big, yet they are really clean, modern and beautifully decorated. The rooms facing dohany street are particularly bright.
Bob and Zoltan, owners of DG, are hospitable, nearly always accessible and really helpful, especially with their advice on where to eat and which attractions to visit in the city.
The only con is that the free wi-fi may at times be slow and problematic, especially if you are Skyping.
I would advise DG to anyone who travels rather on a tight budget and who wants to get the best value for his/her money.More
