“Great value; great host”
Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

The guys who run the place are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had to stay an extra night and while we had to move rooms there was no problem accommodating us.
The double room we had was simple but very clean and the bathroom was new.
WiFi is strongest we had in a couple of weeks.
The hotel is a cross with a hostel but quiet even when full. The building is old and even has some bullet holes from the 56 uprising for those interested in history. The area was one of the longest to hold out during the uprising.
What makes the place is the value and the welcome.

This hostel was awesome! We stayed in the 8bed dorm and there was still plenty of room.bathrooms were the best I have had in all of Europe. Great kitchen and computer to use. Only issue it is about 30 minutes from main centre of city and at first this is fine but repeating this walk time and time again during the day you get a bit over it. Also hard to find initially.

Room Tip: All rooms are good so up to you on privacy and sound

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights at Corvin Point, and it was absolutely fantastic. It's situated in a characterful old residential building just outside the main centre of Budapest, which really makes you feel as though you're experiencing the culture first-hand. Also, as the hostel is so small (only space for 36 I believe), the staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. (They allowed us to use the aircon free of charge (normally a small surcharge) on account of it being 40 degrees!) The living space is fantastic; there is a large communal kitchen where we spent a lot of time talking to other guests. It's nice to find a hostel where you don't necessarily have to stay in the room due to lack of space. The hostel is walking distance from almost everything in the centre, and is close to a metro station so anything not in walking distance can be reached easily. Perhaps the only downside was that the bathrooms were slightly dirty at times, but they did get a lot of use and were cleaned daily so that can probably be excused! Overall we had a fantastic time at Corvin Point; it's a superb hostel in a superb city.

This hostel was located in a fair location, only walking distance from everything. Many people were recommending that we take trains to our destinations throughout the city, however the hostel was much closer to the main attractions than it so seemed. The staff were very friendly, and the hostel was extremely clean. The air conditioning saved our lives! It was so nice after a hot day in the city. Also, the location of the actual dorms are in a safe, secure area in the giant complex. Privacy and cleanliness, woop! The front desk can help with how to get to all of the cities main sites and activities!

Having never been to a hostel i had some reservations about sharing a bedroom and bathroom. Those reservations soon disappeared. It was very clean. I was in a 6 bed dorm, the room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and there were substantial sized lockers. The staff were friendly and helpful. They booked my shuttle bus for my return flight. The location was great. Just off a main road with a lovely bakery on the corner where you could a small coffee and something for breakfast for under £2.

This is as good as it gets. Seriously. Nowhere in all of my travels I have ever stayed in a more comfortable, hospitable, clean, friendly or interesting place. The hosts Zoltan and Shandor (twin brothers) are pros at running their hostel and are very kind and welcoming and eager to help you with whatever you need. If you don't take a minute to ask them a few questions about the city, the hostel building, what to do, etc. Than you are missing out!!!! They are both full of funny stories and know a lot of interesting history and love to share it all with you. If you want somewhere beautifully furnished, professional but laid back, as clean as any nice hotel, and CHEAP??? Give this place a go and you'll be very happily surprised.

-Amazing large kitchen with really nice appliances
-Free Wifi and PC
-Lots of great showers
-Cleaned daily with attention to detail
-Just 2 minutes from great gym with pool
-1 minute from tram and metro
-1 minute from Palinko bar
-30 seconds from good bakery
-Minutes from Raday Utca

This hostel was only 20 min walk from the city centre with a fab little bakery right outside. Had a slight issue finding the door as its not really well signed but once in the whole place is lovely. The apartment we were in had an eight bed dorm, which I stayed in (really clean and comfy beds, along with individual lockers) , as well as 2 other small rooms, a really well sized kitchen with free internet which was clean and well stocked. This hostel does not take card payment, but the man behind the reception, the owner Zoli I think, let us pay at the end of our stay anyway so it gave me plenty of time to find an ATM, esp as we extended our stay for an extra couple of nights. He also very kindly sent my Dad his postcard as the Posta staff did not speak English and I was struggling to get a stamp!
