This memorial was one of the most impactful ones I have encountered in my life. Seeing the shoes on the floor, from adult shoes to children's shoes, was impactful, it made you think of what happened here. It is so important to read about these memorials before visiting them or at least read them as you are there. IMPORTANT ON HOW TO CROSS: this is a busy street. Be careful and before you cross, look for the opening of the rail so when you cross the street you don't have to fend for you life. This is key, if you can do this it is an easy cross. We took the stairs that are in front of the Poet's statue and we went right. There is a sign that says "Tourists stop". If you are not savvy crossing the street, then do stop, if you are careful then just remember: look for the opening, don't just cross the street!
