This is not the easiest to get to (across busy road) but is a good point to reflect on the city's past. There isn't anywhere to sit and take it all in, and like many things in Budapest there isn't an English translation of information about the shoes, but it is still a striking sight within this beautiful city

Sometimes the simplest things can have the deepest impact. Very poignant reminder of Europes saddest time and the shocking horrors that humans can inflict on one another.

not much to see here but represents so much. worth stopping for a moment of reflection of how the past was so brutal and how humans can be so inhumane

A moving tribute to an awful time. The saying less is more has never been so true about this. There isn't a huge plaque telling you about everything that happened, it isn't an area bustling with tourists, just a simple memorial, that makes you think about life as we have it today.
Certainly a place to see and ponder.
