Clean, warm and very big rooms. Friendly staff. Location is relatively bad. Walking distance to city center is approximately 3 km or 45 minutes. Nearest shopping mall is Arena plaza - walking distance 30 minutes. Not so friendly neighborhood, very dark street. Solid spa center, with one small swimming pool, small jacuzzi and 2 small saunas. Spa center is for maximum 4-5 people at the same time. Pillows in rooms are very strange and uncomfortable, but bad are very big and good for sleeping. On the other hand, the price is very good and it compensate all imperfections. Rich buffet breakfast for all tastes. Everybody who do not care about location should choose this hotel.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your nice comment on our staff and services were provided in the Lion's Garden Hotel.
Regarding the distance from the city centre you probably are experienced after your visit that Budapest is not a city you can walk around and see everything for one shot.
Lion's Garden Hotel is not a wellness hotel, but our Spa area is big enough for 107 rooms hotel. The length of the swimming pool is more than 11m and the bigger sauna is able to serve 7-8 people in the same time. The infra sauna is for max. 2 person as usually this is a normal size as the heaters must be close to you.
The nearest shopping mall is 5 minutes walk from us, but Arena plaza, the biggest mall in Hungary is really 30 minutes walk from us, but again Budapest is not a walk around city.
Thank you and kind regards

Stayed with some friends to celebrate a big birthday - really nice hotel with good spa facilities. Spacious room which was very clean and modern. Breakfast was continental with lots of choice.

The main downside for us was the distance away from the centre of Budapest. We struggled to work out the transport system and was warned against the dodgy taxi drivers so we walked! The hotel is situated in the most dodgiest part of town which we where alarmed to hear from a lovely Hungarian who spoke good English in town. She warned us never to walk along there on your own or in a couple. As there was six of us she said we would probably be ok!! OMG that sent the Wobblies up us and we taxied it from then on which was absolutely fine - it cost about £6 for the journey and by far the safest as long as you get in a taxi with the Budapest council sign on board.

Room Tip: Be prepared for taxi rides

Dear Karen P,

Thank you for your nice comment regarding your satisfaction with the quality and the provided services of the Lion's Garden Hotel. The second part of your comments is very strange for me as you were related of someone opinion who you didn't even know. The hotel is located in a residential area with several Embassies in the neighborhood as example Romanian, Slovak, Libyan, Swiss, Italian, Vietnam, so probably you were very misinformed. The distance from the downtown is very subjective as Budapest is a big city and the attractions are all around.
"Dodgy" taxi drivers are everywhere in the word not only in Budapest.
Kind regards

Hotel was clean, tidy and first impressions were good. Rooms were spotless, well equipped, nicely decorated and comfortable, only downside was our room was on the first floor and it was very noisy with outside traffic. As they class October as 'winter' season the air conditioning is switched off, it was so warm in the rooms that you had to keep the windows open hence the noise and also mosquitos! I didn't think I'd need mossi repellant in Hungary at the end of October! Breakfast at the hotel was adequate but mostly catered for the continental palette, chirizo sausage etc but always found something even if only toast. I didn't use the spa facilities but one of our party did and they said it was very nice but pool was very cold. It was a good 20-30 minute trek into town and that was only to the outskirts, to the heart of the City and the Danube was at least 45-50 minutes. All in all if you don't mind being in a quieter more remote area then the Lion's Garden is a good value choice.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor or room that does not face the street. One that over looks the garden is quiet...

Went here to assist with a training day for our customers, customers. I stayed in the hotel only for one night but it was comfortable if a little warm in the room. The conference went off without a hitch and the staff were very good with refreshments and lunch. You hardly knew they were there and they kept everything filled. All in all a good trip.

Rooms a quite beautiful but location is a little bit far outside the centre. The pictures on the net are well shot because in reality the whole spa area is not bigger than your double-bed- room. Its, in my opinion, very disappointing! So overthink to come here if u're a sauna-loving-guy like me. Greetz
