We found this gem on TripAdvisor and knew it was a perfect activity for our family with children ages 9&7. Monika gave us a nice tour with delicious samples at every turn. The chocolates were gourmet quality and melted in my mouth. We learned the history of chocolate and Hungarian chocolate as well. We ended our tour with beautiful chocolate cake with a strawberry filling and lovely apricot green tea. You must visit the gift shop. I purchased pistachio chocolate with gold flakes-- heavenly!

As for getting there-- definitely drive or take a taxi. Taxis are fast and cheap. Buses will take twice as long with multiple transfers out of the center of downtown Budapest.

I was in Budapest for only 2 nights and this was one of the attractions which I visited and it was amazing! great value for money and the chocolate is delicious, perfect for chocolate lovers! I recommend that you phone ahead so the owners know that you are visiting - I phoned on the Sunday morning at around 11 to go for 3pm so it does not involve far in advance planning. I also had to phone because we were running 10 minutes late and they waited on us arriving which was very much appreciated! You get tasters from the very beginning and throughout. At the end you are asked to pick what tea you would like from a selection to enjoy with hot chocolate cake! I recommend going hungry so you get to enjoy all the treats on offer. It is a bit far out from city center - I had to to take a tram and a bus, the total journey took about 45 minutes however it was completely worth it.

We went to the museum after spotting it on a local map at the airport. From the moment you walk in, the smell of chocolate hits you and is absolutely divine. The English tour was fairly comprehensive and covered the history of chocolate in an overview that included a ~15 min video and many samples, including hot chocolate. The tour also had a section where visitors could make their own chocolate tarts and add their desired toppings (nuts, cinnamon, lavender, and others). It concluded with tea and amazing chocolate cake at a lavishly set table. Overall, it was a wonderful addition to our Budapest trip!

We went on the English speaking tour with a group of 8 which included children. This was a great tour. We felt included & comfortable & had fun. The museum is located just out of the city but was easily reached via the metro & bus. We had plenty of tastings & learned about the history of chocolate & the company whom had established the museum. Our guide was so lovey & the owner also. Would definitely recommend! :)

The tour was great, filled with history and plenty of chocolate tastings. Tour guides were friendly, and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a sweet tooth and a couple of free hours!
