There are experiences in life which just make you smile when you look back on them and this was one. We wanted to stay in Budapest for a short break, and we selected the Buda castle district as this looked ideal for us.
We chose a hotel through lastminute.com, "The Buda Castle Hotel". After going through the booking process and giving our card details we were told there were no rooms available, they offered us a room at the higher rated five star Hilton in the same area, before accepting I decided to contact The Buda Castle Fashion Hotel Direct. I am so glad I did. There was a choice of rooms and the booking process was very pleasant.
The area around the hotel is a picturesque main tourist attraction in Budapest, extremely clean and quiet in the evenings, when all the day trippers have returned to their hotels. Every evening sitting in lovely restaurants it felt like a privilege to be staying there. The Hotel is set on a very quiet street with everything just a short stroll away.
The moment we walked in to the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel we knew we had made the right choice not to stay at the larger higher star rated Hilton. This is a small personal boutique hotel. There is a vaulted brick ceiling leading to the reception desk and we were warmly greeted by the reception, once they had met us they knew our names (this may have been because there was so much correspondence between us, because last minute.com had reserved a room in our names, told me there was no availability, but, still reserved the cash from my account).
We stayed in one of their suites on the ground floor just behind reception. The room was massive with four large arched windows vaulted ceilings large table and chairs, separate sofa great wardrobe with safe which had a socket, handy for phone charging. There was a desk & minibar with reasonable prices, a bathroom with bath and separate shower which was big enough for a whirling dervish to practice his traditional dance and then there was a separate room containing a w.c. It was an excellent room.
Now to the staff; We have never made so many requests from hotel reception as we did on this short break. The management should be very proud of their excellent staff. We booked restaurants through them, booked taxis, booked attraction tickets, borrowed umbrellas. I booked flowers and chocolates in advance as it was our anniversary; they were placed in our room on our second day as requested when we left for the day and were there on our return. The reception recommended a restaurant for our anniversary in the fisherman’s bastion and reserved a window table with a great view over the Danube (what an incredible experience). Every member of staff we met from cleaning to reception were friendly and made you feel very welcome.Excellent staff.
We would return to this hotel just for the service we received, its a bonus that it is a lovely hotel in a beautiful area. If you want lots of night life stay on the Pest side, if you want a haven of tranquillity with great restaurants after a busy day sightseeing look no further. Book direct without hesitation. http://www.budacastlehotelbudapest.com

We stayed in this hotel because I wanted to stay in a quiet place but within the city and close to the important monuments of Budapest. Easy access to Pest by the 16 bus ( 10 min ) and plenty of historic monuments, churches around. Cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The rooms was really big, it was a triple room for us with a galleria.
The breakfast was very good in a nice setting and a garden!

Located in the historical and quiet area near Buda Castle this hotel offers a friendly atmosphere. The surroundings are nice with some good sightseeing nearby and some excellent restaurants too. Roms are small but smart layout. Breakfast is nice too. Friendly and helpful staff.

I booked this hotel through Hotels.com looking for a hotel that wasn't part of an International chain, but would be high quality in a great location. Buda Castle lived up to my expectations. It is a small hotel but of very nice quality. Location was outstanding, able to take the bus or funicular down to catch other public transportation with no problem. We were given a loft room which was more than big enough for 2 people. The breakfast area was quaint off of an interior courtyard with plenty of food to eat (hot & cold). Having the ability to have hot or cold drinks during afternoon was an additional advantage.

Room Tip: Don't think there is a bad room.

My wife and I stayed at Buda Castle Fashion Hotel for a few nights prior to joining a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. From this location we could easily walk down to the Chain Bridge, and the city centre. There are buses connecting trams that also make getting about very easy and convenient. From the hotel we also visited the Gellert spa baths and the sites around Buda Castle. The hotel staff were very good with help locating restaurants and taxis to join the APT Cruise. A very good restaurant close to the hotel is Pierrot. Great staff and great location.
