“Ok but not worthy of its 4-star billing.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

An elegant hotel close to the castle. First impressions are good. Helpful reception staff and our room was a decent size. However, it has its drawbacks. For an hotel that sells itself as four-star, it is somewhat lacking in facilities. Notably, a bar area all but devoid of anything other than ginger beer and staff in it who have no idea what they are doing and who seem disinclined to find out. Truly shocking for an hotel of this standard.
Thank heavens for its front reception staff who worked hard to make our brief stay pleasant enough.
This is a posh B&B, nothing more.

A centuries old building modernized for a great quiet stay by the Buda castle. Only 25 rooms make it a cross between b/b and a hotel. The rooms have the architectural vaults and curves intact from centuries past. Large rooms with large baths. The breakfasts were large and had a variety of items to choose from and something for most anyone's palate. Location was just a block from the castle and very quiet. If you want the bustling nite life close at hand go to the Pest side. The front desk was very helpful and took very good care of us.

Great hotel in a great location, on the Hill overlooking the river. Less expensive than the other hotels that share this ideal location. The room we stayed in was large and airy. Easy commute by bus or taxi to the Pest side of the Danube.

My colleague and I stayed at the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel for 2 nights. From the point of arrival to departure the staff went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. The bedrooms are massive, with high ceilings, french windows, long silky draped curtain and understated yet impactful decor along with all the necessary amenities. I was allocated a room with twin beds rather than one queen size bed. Andrea the receptionist on duty quickly put this right allocating another bedroom with a queen bed.

Rooms were very clean, well stocked and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was larger than normal with a bath, shower facility , basin, bidet and toilet. The rooms also have a safe to store valuables.

The only thing that lets the hotel down is the breakfast. Whilst there is a fair selection to choose from, the pastries were dry and clearly old. It would be helpful to have fresh pastries as well as a greater array of fresh fruit at breakfast rather than just apples or grapes.

The location is excellent. There are some superb restaurants close by. The no. 16 bus is a 2 minute walk away if you want ed to go to the Pest part of the city. There's also a great little train which stops at the bottom of the Chain Bridge.

The two receptionists... Both named Andrea were excellent and were ale to provide lots of helpful information and tips about where to go, what to see and costings.... These two ladies were truly knowledgeable and ever so helpful.

The room costs area incredibly reasonable considering the location.

We will definitely be turning to the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel each time we visit Budapest.

This is a hotel worth every penny!

Spent 4 nights. Quiet street one block off the major tourist areas. Room was great. Very comfortable. The annual wine festival at the castle was a 5 minute walk away. Local restaurants were good. We walked down then across the bridge and took the #16 back from Pest. The last day we were scheduled to be picked up by airport shuttle at 6:30AM. The staff served us breakfast before the 7AM starting time. Great way to start a long travel day.

We stayed at the Buda Castle Fashion Hotel for 3 nights from the 25th September 2012.

This hotel is perfect. We were lucky enough to stay in a suite on the ground floor just opposite reception so it was a 10 second walk to the breakfast room and bar.

The room was stunning, a really big airy room with high ceilings. There was a large wardrobe, a desk, a suitcase table and a large double bed. There is a flat screen TV with Sky News, CNN and BBC World News plus other channels. It wasn't noisy at all, even with being at street level and right by reception. There is also a laptop sized safe which is great as it seems quite a few hotels in Europe now don't have big enough safes.

The bathroom was beautiful, with a large freestanding bath, a huge seperate walk in shower and a large sink area and toilet. Again, a very large and spacious room.

Included in our stay was complimentary breakfast which was lovely, fresh bacon, eggs and sausages along with cereals, cold meats, cheeses and breads. There was also a large selection of fresh pastries and drinks.

The staff are wonderful here, so helpful and friendly. We booked our airport shuttle transfer and our hop on hop off bus service with ease.

The hotel is impeccably clean, and is located in a fantastic area, the Castle District of Buda. There are fantastic restaurants nearby and lovely little cafes. We would definitely stay here again when we visit Budapest again.

We cannot recommend this place enough, it is simply fantastic!

We stayed at this hotel for one week in September. Perfect position in the Castle District. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Will definately recommend this hotel to friends and family. the staff are very efficent and friendly. nothing was too much trouble for them. We have stayed in budapest 3 times now, each time in the Castle district. i can honestly say that after the Hilton, that this is the next best thing. The hotel is small friendly a very different experience to the Hilton.
One we enjoyed. The bathrooms were very nice. Having a computer available 24 hours a day was very handy, it worked very well.

Room Tip: I think most rooms are very good.
