We've been to this very busy restaurant for a dinner. Although we had limited time to eat (the place was closing for a private event), we had a great time and the food was very tasty and the variety was colossal.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Even champagne was included in the price, and this fitted to us perfectly as we celebrated our anniversary.

We arrived on a day stated on their website in English that the restaurant was staying up till midnight. After going to the thermal near by we decided to walk to the restaurant with my two kids. Desolated place next to vast empty parks and trainlines with drunked junkies in the underpass only 50 metres from the restaurant. Depressing David Lynch scenery!

Finally we are there at 10:26 after 25min walk in the night only to be encounter by a surprised waitress telling us that the closing time of the buffet is 22:45 and your plate is taken from your table at 23:00. That gives us only 15 min to sit order drinks and get something and then we have to eat in 15 min max!!!! and all that for 3000 HUF per person!! Food was boiling there in the food warmers since lunchtime i guess waiting desperately for anybody to eat it and the waiters, like good communist time workers, wanted to go home and couldn't care less!!!

After talkin to my kids, my daughter aged 9 was emotional as she walked for 25 min in the night and was very hungry, and to the fact that there were no other options in the desolated area we were at the time, we decided to feel our plates and eat fast as a last resort and all that for 9000 HUF, that is around 36 euro (expensive for Budapest as it is not Barcelona or Lyon with restaurants of different level). The waiter announced us that we have only 5 min left!!!

Well, we left.....

Obviously they didn't want to work more

Obviously the food was in a terrible state

Obviously booze was basic very near to home made quality

Obviously dont even bother think of going there.

I wouldn't even if it was for free

Terrible people.....

It's not expensive and there is varied food for all and also, sometimes the choice is difficult.
With children, it's very interesting because it's cheap (free or half price).

This was definitely one of the best places to eat in Budapest. It is a true 'all-you-can-eat-and-drink' place as they have a large variety of dishes and you can combine them in any way you want, taste the Hungarian cuisine and still pay the same price. Besides the regular beef and chicken dishes, they also have some seafood options. Fish is fresh and they cook it right in front of you. And the desert... how can I not mention that? This is THE place where I fell in love with the Somloi cake which is the Hungarian version of tiramisu. And believe me, I tried it in other places after that but it was near as good as the one from Trofea.
This brand has 3-4 other locations around the city, but I only had dinner in the one on Visegrad and on Kiralyi utca. They both look ok but I preffered the one on Kiralyi, because it's in a more popular area and you can easily walk to other bars on that street after dinner.

It's the place where you can invite a group of people for relatively low price, specially because the price includes beer, wine and champagne. The best choice is the champaigne, I think. As for the food, make an "eating plan" and keep to it - avoid the frustration of missing the food you were expecting to eat. Don't forget about the desserts! And don't expect long conversations, as your partners and you will be walking to and from the collection of food.
If it's your birthday, name day or wedding anniversary, you receive a free cake. Notify the staff when reserving!
Honestly speaking, the quality of food is not soooo high, but you can make it up by the quantity.
