“delicious”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

this is a place that every time i am in budapest i would go there.
my sister and her firends took me there for the first time, i have been there 5 times, i even took my fiance there for a huge lunch, its big dishes mostly hungarian style, and when i say that you should know how excellent the meats tastes, i had fish once and i had many delicious stake dishes. its just an okay looking restaurant but inside feels like an old erra with surprisingly good food which usually cost a bit more to compare of other restaurants i had tried in budapest. but totally worth it, i usually spend approximately 25 euros. but again its that good that i keep going there!

“would go again”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

Good food, we got the paprika platter for two, which featured one leg of duck, 2 cordon bleau, 2 small pieces of veal and 2 of pork with potatoes, rice and cabbage. Nice atmosphere and surprisingly peaceful considering how packed it was, the acoustic must be good – probably because of all the wood used in the décor. Very reasonably priced. Make sure you book a table; several people were turned away without a reservation, because they were full. Even so they left you to hover over your coffee for as long as you liked. Experienced service. Would go again.

“Nice surprise!”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

We stopped in here because we were hungry, not knowing what to expect. We had the fish soup, goose leg, and veal paprikas. All were excellent. Waitress didn't give us any attitude at all for asking for tap water, and in fact brought us a pitcher for the table. Atmosphere (lunch) was as good as the food. Service was good, food was excellent. Not inexpensive, but very good value in my opinion. Desserts were being handed out all around us and they looked amazing, but we were unable to partake. Next time (which will be soon)!

“traditional, touristic and below average”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Paprika was among restaurants that we wanted to visit last few times in Budapest, and we finally did that. It has very nice interior design - traditional, rustic, really nice. But, if you are interested in more than interior (like food, for example), youl'll be rather dissapointed. There are some "traditional" food on the menu, but everthing is below average, and very touristic - like rice and french fries in companion to local dishes! It wasn't bad, but nothing more than average. Other restaurants in Budapest that we have visited (Ruben and Kispipa) were great, this one is far from that. We won't be back there again!

“Really overestimated or degrading”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

Goose leg was slightly burnt, not juicy, red cabbage was tasteless and colorless, potato side dish was eatable, but withoult some delight.
Only fish soup was interesting.
Looks like this reatourant exploites old rating achievement.
