“One of Ljubljana's hidden gems”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

Tucked down a little side street in tranquil Krakovo, this is not a restaurant you will 'stumble upon' but it's well worth seeking out. A lot of effort has been made to transform this otherwise non-descript building into an attractive, inviting eatery. There are a few tables outside, some under the shade of a large tree, and some with their own parasols, and the whole area has been decorated with aesthetically pleasing plants and flowers, and candles on the tables, and has a lovely intimate feel to it.

There's no menu to read (apparently because the menu is changed on a regular basis depending on the availability of seasonal ingredients), but the polite, attentive waitress will read it out to you very eloquently.

The food was well-presented, perfectly cooked and fresh, the flavours were interesting, thoughtful and different (my salmon was served with red currants, with a red currant and orange sauce), and the service was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ljubljana.

“The definition of off the beaten path”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

This is not a restaurant you fall upon; you have to seek it out. But it's worth the walk. Set at the end of an alley in a residential area just off the lower end of the river, this small restaurant offers a feeling of intimacy you cannot get at the typical riverside restaurants in Ljubljana. The gnocci with truffles was delicious. Black truffles can be overpowering but in this dish, the flavor was subtle but present. the duck breast was good but the orange sauce made the dish. A great place to go for a quiet dinner after a long day of town centar walking, drinking and dining.

“Down to earth, excellent home cooking”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Lovely outdoor garden space. Family run. Small menu of dishes made seasonally. Great food. Pride in good quality ingredients. Friendly and caring service. Like a home from home. Fantastic value set lunch. Was recommended to us by a local - we went twice. Wonderful.

“Very good food”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

This was our favourite meal of our recent trip to Slovenia. The restaurant was conveniently situated just round the corner from where we were staying. We sat outside on the small terrace. There was no written menu in English but the waitress listed all the starters and mains. It was a little hard to remember all the choices but we enjoyed what we ordered!! I had yellow mushrooms for starter which were very tasty. Other members of the family had garlic soup and tomatoes stuffed with mozzarella. Two of us had salmon with a yummy sauce for main, one daughter had chicken which she said was very good and my other daughter had tagliatelle which she also enjoyed. We did not have puddings as we were too full. It cost 85 euros with drinks- 2 soft and 2 glasses of wine which I felt was reasonable given the quality of the food.
