It seems that no hotels are close to the train station. We paid about 11€ for a taxi ride when it was raining; otherwise about a 15 minute walk.
Our room was quite basic, but quiet, clean, with decent beds. Pretty cramped, and only one uncomfortable straight-backed chair for two people. The floor was vinyl (or similar). TV has CNN and CNBC.
Apart from a market, we couldn’t find shops or restaurants nearby. Numerous restaurants and bars are toward the river and the center, about a 10-15 minute walk.
The breakfast is good. Not exactly a wide variety of choices—either hot or cold—but it’s a good start to the day. The front desk staff is mixed. Some were great but one said she as too busy to break a 50€ note (as she was applying lipstick).
For a basic hotel it’s OK, but two nights here was plenty. Next time we’ll probably look for a hotel we will actually enjoy.
