The museum is very well presented with exhibits explained in both Slovenian and English. It gives a comprehensive history of Slovenia through the 20th century, starting just before WWI and finishing with its (fairly) recent accession to the EU and joining NATO. If you are visiting and don't know much about Slovenian history it is well worth a visit as it sums up key events in the recent history of the country and was very engaging.

If you want to learn about the history of Slovenia in the 20th century, this is a very interesting and informative museum which is well-presented. It is also located in the lovely Tivoli park.

Very interesting layout, exhibits and information. It follows a timeline and tells a story of the last 100 years ish in Slovenia. It's really good to get an idea of Slovenian history if like me you didn't know too much about it before hand. I would say this is more suited to adults or teens but not children, though there are some nice exhibits to look at and a trench reconstruction.

Located in the beautiful surroundings of Tivoli Park, this informative museum is a must for anyone visiting Slovenia.

Slovenia has been through so many changes over the last 100 years and it's impossible to appreciate modern day Slovenia without understanding its recent past.

Through visiting this museum, I became aware of how little I knew of modern Slovenian history- a short trip to this museum was enlightening and helped me to appreciate my time in Slovenia much more.

A must for anyone visiting Ljubljana.

The museum was almost too much to take in . The time line started with the outbreak of the First World War and showed in great detail what subsequently happened . The second world war featured as welll and we had some difficulty in following the ins and outs of the German and Italian invasions and the activities of the partisans . I have to give credit where credit is due and say there is plenty of explanation in English . We were almost the only visitors that day and the person on duty was very attentive and even put on a film show specially for us . The museum is a manageable walk from the city centre on the edge of the Tivoli park .
