“Great day trip to Slovenia from Trieste, Italy.”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

We had one free day while in Trieste Italy and wanted to see Slovenia. Getting across the boarder via public transportation is challenging and we didn't want to hassle with renting a car (besides I've heard many rental companies won't even let you take a rental car over the boarder). I contacted sevral companies and Slovenia Explorer had the best price and great reviews and they were willing to pick us up in Trieste. Gregor, the owner, went out of his way to build a custom tour for our group and even picked me up in his own car while in Slovenia to give me a ride to a church I wanted to see that was a bit out if the way. We had two guides, Nate and George, they were both very knowledgable and had good English. They were very down to earth and it seemed more like we were hanging out with some local friends than a tour guide. The guides were also very honest. When we offered a tip, our guide told us that the tip was too large and refused the amount; we did convince him to take a smaller tip. Slovenia Explorer is a great company and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to make a day trip to Slovenia!

“One amazing weekend in Slovenia”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

When my husband and me were planning a weekend in Slovenia, our friends recommended us to contact Slovenia Explorer in order to arrange an individual two-days tour for us and we are very happy that we did so. Many thanks to Gregor, Managing Director of Slovenia Explorer, and Jernej, our tour guide who helped us to discover this fantastic country. Of course, Slovenia is a very beautiful and interesting country by itself with its marvelous nature and architecture, but nothing can be better then to explore the country with those who know it perfectly and can very professionally and also very friendly to guide you through your visit.

“"Slovenia in 1 Day"”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

This tour's name is a bit of a misnomer, indeed it's more a bit of a 'misleader' although perhaps not intentionally so. You can't do Slovenia in a day. What this day long tour offers is a 45 mile ride from Ljubljana northwest up to Bled where the castle and island are visited, followed (in our case) by a pleasant lakeside walk. Then back to Ljubljana's fringes for a lunch stop after which there's another 35/40 mile drive southwest, first to the spectacular Predjama Castle and then on to nearby Postojna, with its world famous caves. The €115 per person charge (April 2013) includes the cost of the boat ride over to Lake Bled's island and all other entrance fees (Bled & Predjama Castles, and the caves) but not lunch. The tour starts at 8:30 and ends about ten hours later and I'm very happy to recommend it although those of frail dispositions should be warned that there are several steep inclines and steps to be climbed at the castles, caves, and on the island. Our guide/driver Ivana was by any standards at the top of her game and most charming with it.

“Different side to Slovenia”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

Went on the 1 day Coastbusters - Seaside. It was a long way to the coast but well worth it as we saw a different side to the Slovenia from snowy Lake Bled and Ljubljana. The coast was sunny and dotted with charming towns. Also managed to see the Hrastovlje Dance of Death which is hard to get to with transport and guide.

“Postojna caves and predjama castle”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

We booked this tour through the tourist office. Overall we were happy with our experience with slovenia explorer. Our tour guide - a young keen world traveller, was very informative throughout the tour. We had more than enough time to have a chance to explore both places. Definitely recommend other on this tour!!
