Very nice location, the food is consistently good, but it is not a restaurant to go for a fancy dinner, but rather for a good meal with plenty of meat - not much choice if you are not a fan of meat...

“average, but could be special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2012

A very large group was sharing a special meal on a Sunday afternoon--it looked charming.

We went after a trip to the Zoo--and it was just OK. Cevapcici really not as good as at the market or other places (does not come with bread and Kajmak was melted through in a buttery pool), and waiter seemed bothered that we were there. I would get the baked beans again though. I think it has the potential to be lovely in the summer sitting outdoors, so we might try it again. Yet did not live up to hype.

“Authentic Serbian restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2012

The restaurant enjoys one of the best locations below the Roznik hill where some of the most popular hiking paths start. On warm days you can relax in its wonderful garden.

When you enter the restaurant, you experience the retro feeling of former Yugoslavia: there are absolutely no traces of modern architecture, modern design or posh service. Even the waiters are perfect examples of typical Serbian (a bit over-)proud waiters from 1980's.

They serve fantastic no-nonsense food: it's perfectly cooked and you will find to traces of haute cousine.

Their baked peppers with garlic and parsley are delightful. I also love their version of champignon mushroom. The lepinja bread is so good that you have to restrain yourself from eating it before even starting the meal.

Cevapcici (minced meat), sudzukice (home made veal sausages), and foal medallions (yes, we do eat horse meat) are perfect. Prebranac (baked beans) is the best side dish possible.

I usually finish my meal with tasty tufahija (an apple filled with wallnuts) and a cup of Turkish coffee.

The prices are generally reasonable, however, for a complete meal you usually pay about 20% more than you'd pay in a similar restaurant.

Excellent Serbian barbecue, very good prices, situated in suburb. Very nice garden in the summer. Recommend baked beans.
