Not easy to find below a retro cinema, but well worth the effort.l Completely French cuisine including a wide selection of wines. we had two meals there and both were excellent.and the prices reasonable. Only one small critiicism. the menu was in French with an English translation which I suspect was done by a Slovene, so was not precise. A sliced steak ( I have forgottent the French name) was described as "minced" . Not exactly trhe same is it ?
Excellent friendly staff providing cheerful service.

“Nice brasserie in Ljubljana”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2011

The owners are French, the chefs Slovenian, the food luckily French enough. The dishes are nothing fancy, but they do give you that warm French brasserie feeling, we all long for. Not all ingredients are completely fresh (off season stuff is frozen, obviously), but the preparation is good, so it's not bothersome.

The wine selection is good, or even very good when it comes to French wines in Slovenia. Too bad you're pretty much on your own for selection or blindly in the hands of the waiter, though, as not much Slovenian or English is spoken.

The prices are friendly enough and the food is good, so it's actually a great find.

“Excellent food, good value, pleasant atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2010

This restaurant is somewhat hidden away and was very quiet the night that we visited. Nevertheless the food was excellent - freshly prepared, well presented and with superb flavours; a genuine surprise given their prices which compared well with the much more standard fare that we had elsewhere in the city centre (100 Euro for 3 courses for four of us with wine). And it compared very well with numerous restaurants we have visited in France over the years. It would most certainly be at the top of our list on a return visit.

The food was superb - I recommend the rabbit in mustard sauce, and the lemon pie. Service was very attentive, with both the owner and the chef taking time to come and chat. The chef took a genuine interest in wanting to cook a custom meal to suit.

“Pretends to be a french restaurant...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2009

I've been there quite a few times when i come to Ljubljana for regular business trip.
The menu seems to never change as well as the daily specials.
I had the impression that nothing was freshly cooked: Frozen meat, Watery soup, etc..
It seems also that the waiter didn't have a clue about the food.
One good point : they have a good selection of wine but you better be a connoisseur as the waiter doesn't have a clue about french wines.
Location also is a pity... What a strange idea to open a restaurant in a basement, by experience i've never seen a basement restaurant working not even in winter time.
Ljubljana as so much nice terrase to seat out... why would you go in a basement..
